I’m happy to announce the new release of Opencart Mobile Framework or OMF for short.

Features
It is an extension that provides a dedicated mobile view of your store. This way it decreases the time needed for your mobile visitors to load your store with up to 2700%, compared to the default theme.
We’re aiming at easier customization of OMF and that’s why, with the new release, we have also added support for custom mobile themes and an Admin panel.

Support
The installation is made as simple as possible. We keep updating our documentation on a regular basis, adding new KB articles every week. The licence also features free customer support.

More info about OMF on the extension page: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=4168

and on our official website:
http://www.omframework.com

Test it out!
You can check the demo using a mobile browser here:
http://www.omframework.com/demo/

What do you think? I’ll be happy to get feedback from you guys! Share it on our extension page or find us on
Facebook ⇒ http://www.facebook.com/omframework
Twitter ⇒ https://twitter.com/
Google+ ⇒ http://goo.gl/rRqoS

Interested in Opencart Mobile Framework but would like to test it?
You can do so with the free OMF Lite http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=5125

Thank you qphoria! Your comment means a lot to me. I bet you would definitely suggest using vqmod, wouldn't you? :)

Sorry but "Live Price Option Select" relies on Javascript for that live price changing. My extension has no Javascript support in order to increase the device compatibility. This doesn't mean that both extensions can't coexist together, you just won't have that live price functionality available on mobile.

The extension should be compatible with anything that doesn't rely on Javascript.
Version 1.1 which will be released in about an hour supports vqmod.

Is there any reason why the OMF doesn't support Javascript? Sometimes having Javascript is unavoidable, such as when using any of the various sales tracking scripts (e.g. for Google AdWords, MS adCenter, Google Analytics etc).

Override Engine * Integrated VQMod * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Rich Snippets * Google Tag Manager * Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Survey Plus

@JNeuhoff
As you can even see in the demo there is google analytics code included. By "doesn't support" I meant it doesn't have any javascript in the code and also doesn't include jQuery. I did all that to reduce the unneeded overhead jQuery brings.

Though, lately I've been slowly integrating some JavaScript code to improve the browsing experience. Tracking scripts work out of the box if you have put your code in the OpenCart Admin Store Settings.

I can't stop your mobile device from executing JavaScript at all, but I tried to make the page viewable even on devices with small amount of memory and old browsers.

I have just installed the lite version to trial over a new default install of opencart.

When I view on my iphone, just above the search link is the code: tabindex="2" id="cart" >()

How can this be fixed?

Hi waynemichel,
This is because the lite supports only OpenCart 1.5.1.3 and your new installation is 1.5.3.1. To fix this either remove any notion of the cart from common/header_mobile.tpl or replace line 49:
<li><a href="<?php echo $cart; ?>" tabindex="2" id="cart" ><?php echo $text_cart; ?> (<?php echo $text_items_count; ?>) </a></li>

with

<li><a href="<?php echo $shopping_cart; ?>" tabindex="2" id="cart" ><?php echo $text_shopping_cart; ?> (<?php echo $text_items_count; ?>) </a></li>

Tell me if this solves your problem.

Great Framework! I installed, it works great. However, there is evidently something I'm doing wrong. I'm getting an error with the following header_mobile.tpl and footer_mobile.tpl

header_mobile.tpl
Undefined variable: mobile_logo on line 44

footer_mobile.tpl
Undefined variable: config_mobile_front_page_cat_list on line 23

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi penguin29,

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you like our product. As for your issues, go to http://omframework.uservoice.com
Use the "Contact support" link to request support or search our knowledgebase for your issue using the search field.

My early guess would be that you need to activate the opencart mobile framework admin panel and save it again. Let's continue this over our ticketing system, mentioned above.

Cheers!

@OC2PS It works by disabling ÜberCheckout on mobile only so that you use the mobile version of the checkout we have provided.

What's the workflow of your mobile checkout? Where can I see it? I ask because the default checkout is not good for business. http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=110&t=61334

Also, does your answer apply to the free Lite version of the framework too?
