Just have a quick test and this module doesn't work on latest OpenCart v1.5, would you consider to have an update soon? Thanks!

Here you go

The table from AutoSEO

Code: Select all

1617 manufacturer_id=19 brand-microsoft
1623 manufacturer_id=18 brand-oracle
1764 product_id=98&category_id=41 joystick-98
1752 product_id=53&category_id=41 left-handed-mouse-53
1522 product_id=49&category_id=35 trackpad-red-49
The new entries with deadcow SEO

Code: Select all

1782 product_id=96 call-of-duty
1784 product_id=61 need-for-speed-uc
1798 information_id=6 info-shipping
1800 manufacturer_id=21 brand-logitech
I prefer the first idea since I can keep the category in the breadcrumb (we could have more breadcrumb lines if needed for every category), and since with AUTOSEO the site already worked fine with the product id at the end and should be faster like that, we would like to keep that idea.

Oh OK I see. You're talking about ANOTHER AutoSEO module that someone "forked" (without asking BTW ;) ) from the original AutoSEO, here's the url http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ion_id=547

The man behind that added some stuff for the categories, yes, I'm seeing that by looking at his code. I think you'd better find the forum thread linked to this module or contact the author directly and see what he can do for you cause by looking at the code he added I'm not sure I want to have this is the deadcowSEO module.

Well, that is the ONLY Auto SEO (or AutoSEO) extension available at opencart.com or google when searching. That must be the extension we used then in december 2010 and surely would love to have them combined both in one product.

The idea is great, really, having the speed to find products with the product_id and organizing urls and categories pretty well. Why would you be against integrating the good ideas behind that module to yours? It would complement your extension with keywords, description and manufacturers pretty well with speed and categories.

Keep us updated please!

Yeah the old AutoSEO has been removed so that there are no hundreds of version, so basically old AutoSEO = new deadcowSEO and remaining AutoSEO = fork.

Don't worry I'm going to see what I can do about all we talked about, it's just that I have a few things to do before, so I thought it would be better for you to see with the other author, it might be faster.

Regards.

Hi again deadcow,

I wrote the other author and pointed him to this thread but have not received a response yet and he hasn't updated his fork for OC 1.5, so I guess we are on our own on this. Anything I can do to help please ask.

Hi nando.

OK I'll make the other updates first and then we'll see what we can do.

BTW I lied, version for OpenCart 1.5.0 is not coming this week, I definitely can't make it, sorry for the ones waiting for it. :-[

Hi deadcow, thanks for this great module. Everything works correctly except the "Meta keywords:" generator with the "Add terms from Yahoo! Term extraction service using the product description." option checked. I entered the "Your Yahoo! Application ID" as directed.

Here's the error:
Notice: unserialize() [function.unserialize]: Error at offset 0 of 239 bytes in /public_html/admin/model/module/deadcow_seo.php on line 93

This error appears to be repeated once for each products.

I'm running Opencart 1.4.9.5 w/ deadcow SEO v1.2

Thanks for you help!!!

It's working correctly this morning. I'm not sure what the bug was.

Any plans on adding a field for Meta Description?

Thank you for the great module

It works perfect until I'm getting a lot of products (5300 products)

Then when I start the generation of URL_ALIAS it begins to turn a moment, and a blank page appears.

Is it caused by the big number of products or because I started using titles with * ?

Thank you in advance.

Bonjour FTIndustriels,

yeah it must be because of your server timing out. Do you have access to the PHP configuration? Try to increase the max_execution_time if you can.

Hey deadcow,

Thanks for the great looking mod! Do you know if there would be any conflict using this with something like Sitewide Pretty URL's?? I am using OC 1.5.1.
Thanks :)

Hi ccM. Well I have no idea :) Sorry I don't know this module, but deadcow SEO just auto-fills the regular input texts "SEO keywords" from OpenCart and does no hack so it's just like it's not there and you filled everything by hand. Hence, no conflict whatsoever, at least not its fault ;)
