I have this same problem. I did have it working originally but after some updating of my site I've discovered it no longer works.

One major issue I am having. Sent a test email comes through ok, the product images that display in the HTML email seem to be of the largest product image size i.e. 640x640px. I've had a look at request_review.tpl and notice the images are resized to 120x120px, however it doesn't seem to be taking effect?

Currently on 1.4.9.5 and using the shoppica theme - any help most welcome

Thanks

I had already posted this suggestion in the extensions directory but since that is the wrong place I will suggest it again over here. Please trash the post in the extensions comments if you have the option.

Marvellous extension, it is really helpful. Thank you very much.

I wonder if it is possible to only send one review link in the email. This link links to a page where all ordered products are placed under each other (left image and name, right review options). A customer can insert their reviews per product on one page. Much like eBays 'leave feedback' for multiple items. Are there any plans to implement this?

That is a very nice suggestion. I will keep it in mind, and add it to a future version. Can't promise when it'll be ready, but sometime during January perhaps. :)

Thanks a lot!

Would be a lovely option in my opinion. I have other work to do on open cart so will investigate for an easy temporarily solution in the meantime. But I would love to see this in the module. Thank you. :)

Any updates in this regard? Otherwise I will start to look in my own solution the next week. :) Thanks!

I personally had the idea of generating a one time link which is valid for 7 days or until the user has submitted the review. This one time link enumerates all products per order recently bought by the customer. Also a option to receive a coupon, disc out code, etc on submit would b interesting.

Hey Dbstr,

I am looking to purchase this for my site,

I have a couple of quick questions.

Is this installed as a VQmod?

is it compatible with 1.5.1.3?

If the answer is yes to both of the above I will be buying it straight away.

Cheers

Hi dbstr,

Is this module already compatible with opencart 1.5.2.1? That would be very nice! Or do you have plans to update the module to make it compatible with the newest version?

Thanks and regards,

The developer has now tested in 1.5.3.1 and officially announced compatibility. I will buy ASAP.

@dbstr: One suggestion:

One very very good use of your engine could be this:

Converting abandoned carts is the holy grail of eCommerce. Opencart does store abandoned carts of logged-in users. If you add the modified functionality, then using it merchants can send emails to customers abandoning carts, within a day or two of abandonment.

@dbstr: You require users to make a small change in the code. Might be a good idea to include this change as a vQmod. I know you are busy for the next month. I am happy to write the vQmod and send it over for you to include, if you like.

Install instructions need updating.
  1. Backup your database!
  2. Unzip and upload the content of the 'upload' folder to the root directory of your OpenCart installation, preserving directory structure. If you want the mails to link to the review tab on your product detail page, click yes to overwrite tabs.js
  3. Edit the following file: '/admin/view/template/common/header.tpl'
    Find (at line 111 for a clean installation of OC v1.5.3.1):

    Code: Select all

    <li><a href="<?php echo $contact; ?>"><?php echo $text_contact; ?></a></li>
    Right below, add

    Code: Select all

    <?php $this->load->language('sale/request_review'); ?>
            <li><a href="<?php echo HTTPS_SERVER . 'index.php?route=sale/request_review&token=' . $this->session->data['token']; ?>"><?php echo $this->language->get('heading_title'); ?></a></li>
  4. From the admin menu, go to Admin Panel -> System -> Users->User Groups and check 'sale/request_view' in both access and modify for each user.
  5. You can now access the Request Review module from the Admin Panel -> Sale -> Request Review.

It would be super cool if:
When customers click in email to write a review, their name is pre-filled in the field.
I understand in the current OC structure, it is probably very hard to do.

Next best thing is tracking the emails send, and clicks made.
