hi

as with russell mann's post above, i too am getting below error:

'Uploaded file is not a valid spreadsheet file or its values are not in the expected formats!'

I'm trying to find how the spreadsheet needs to be layed out to import properly. I can't seem to find documentation on it. Any help?

You mention in post that there may be issues when using openoffice, if so, what do i need to do to fix? if 'products' data is corrupt could you poss let me know how to fix?

I have attached spreadsheet file.

all help appreciated.

matt

Check your OpenCart's system/logs/error.txt for more details.

thanks for that, for some reason i didn't think to check error logs, but, bingo...

it's saying 'Export/Import: Invalid header in the Products worksheet' - self-explanatory, however, i am not sure what is making the header invalid...?

I've attached spreadsheet again.

Just do an export, and copy the product worksheet header from that resulting file to your new spreadsheet file.

I have done all suggestions above, now, when i do an import, when timer on chrome gets to 100% the screen whites out, the error in logs is below:

2012-10-24 17:11:49 - PHP Notice: Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'SS F 19' RIM.JPG', 179, 0, 1, 50, '2012-09-14 11:28:28','2012-09-14 11:28:28', 1' at line 1<br />Error No: 1064<br />INSERT INTO `category` (`category_id`, `image`, `parent_id`, `top`, `column`, `sort_order`, `date_added`, `date_modified`, `status`) VALUES ( 444, 'data/Classic British/BSA/BSA 7' SS F 19' RIM.JPG', 179, 0, 1, 50, '2012-09-14 11:28:28','2012-09-14 11:28:28', 1); in /var/www/vhosts/sorcewebdesign.co.uk/httpdocs/devonrimcompany/system/database/mysql.php on line 49

I have tried to locate the image with apostrophes in the image name, above, but i cannot find it on the server, I am guessing that the error is possibly because of the apostrophes - do you think this might be the case?

You are using single quotes in your image file names, e.g. 'data/Classic British/BSA/BSA 7' SS F 19' RIM.JPG'.

Don't use special characters in image file names.

arrrgggh!

thanks JNeuhoff

this image doesn't even exist!

UPDATE: image no longer exists, but ref to image is still in spreadsheet, this is causing the issue, i hope :)

SORTED! :joker:
