A simple proposal to change the default grammar on checkout to avoid missing potential sales! A very simple change that can be potentially lose those few sales over time.

Although it may appear obvious and it does even to me, unfortunately the common customer isn't as diligent and we've experienced problems with customers having problems putting in their details upon checkout. So this is based on experience running our shop.

Specifically where the input details field states "Your Personal Information" and "Your Address", some customers are unfortunately inserting their delivery details as they are missing the small title text next to step 2.

We've gone and changed these default values to "Your Billing Details" and "Your Billing Address" to completly avoid any problems.

To change yourself, its simply at: /catalog/language/english/checkout.php and just swap to what you want.

Code: Select all

$_['text_your_details']              = 'Your Personal Details';
$_['text_your_address']              = 'Your Address';
Might seem simple, but hey a 2 second change could literally mean the difference between a sale and not. Hope the obvious here helps someone out there.

Good idea, and always good to get the ahem.... "Grammer" correct :joker:

Sorry, couldn't resist that, but good that you have pointed out the text on checkout, which I will change.

haha, well that's embarrassing. I live in the world of spellcheckers to get through my day and is unfo..rtun..atellyy there is not one on here! Anyway, hope the above is useful. Is all about ironing out every single thing that could put someone off and this is no doubt 1 of many.

Yup, just upgraded Opencart and forgot to change this over again, and hey, we've had orders go to the wrong addresses!!!! People just don't see the text next to "step 1" it appears and get these cells mixed up very easily.

I agree this change helps a lot. I actually add changed mine to "Account & Billing Details: Address MUST match your credit card/other payment address" which helps avoid processing errors due to the address not matching the credit card.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.2 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
