I have a customer that I am doing an opencart installation with that currently has the shipping setup as:

$49.99 or more - Free Shipping
$49.99 or less - Flat rate $6

I would like to run some conversion tests on if I show a notice/popup of some sort to all customers who have purchased less than $49 in the store to say something like "if you purchase over $50 your shipping is free!"

Would you guys have any idea on hwo to do this? Maby a jquery lightbox or something?

You should be able to implement this in checkout process in the steps where it calculates the customer shipping. You can use a Jquery or simple java script pop up would also work I guess.

You can show a note under the shipping saying that "Free shipping is available on orders over $49" when order is less than $49. You will be giving them free shipping over the $49 limit anyways. Simple conditional statement would do the job here i suppose.
