Just transferred my test site to live and and got ride of the old store, old tech, old e commerce.
NOT a hitch nor problem, and since the wife went to bed about an hour ago, I had to tell someone.

I can empathize 100% with you on this. I had been contemplating on "pulling the trigger" on going with Magento for the longest time .... the "barrier" being the (in my opinion) ridiculously overpricing of most of the extensions and template themes developed for Magento. Then, I stumbled upon OpenCart and was absolutely AMAZED at how comparable OC is to Magento in virtually every way. Not only that, but the vast majority of extensions, modifications and themes developed for OC are amazingly affordable (THANK GOD FOR THIS !!!) and allow one to create a ecommerce experience every bit comparable to "the big boys" in the ecommerce world.


The best part .... the OpenCart Community is ACTIVE and VIBRANT in continuing to strive to further develop and improve upon an already great product. It's exactly this kind of Community spirit - and in effort to INCREASE awareness and enthusiasm for OpenCart - that I created an [unofficial] OpenCart Ecommerce Facebook Group as an additional outlet (and social awareness effort) to inform, educate and promote the many virtues and advantages of OpenCart as an incredible ecommerce solution.

To that effect, PLEASE DO FEEL FREE TO JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP AS WELL and contribute to the discussion and awareness effort. The way I see it ... the more people make aware of the dynamic/robust power and versatility of OpenCart - as well as the OpenCart Development Community - the more potential users and developers we can attract toward further strengthening and improving upon this fantastic platform.
