Maxmind Fraud suggestions

Is anyone using the Maxmind service that was recently integrated into OC?
I'm signed up for the trial but was wondering what number people are using for their threshold. I haven't used any fraud before so it's all pretty new to me so I'd appreaciate any feedback.

i use it on the main opencart site. managed to get the amount of fraud from 50 or 60 orders a month to 0.

you have to use the information that they give you not just the fraud score.

ya..looks like a new thing to learn. I placed an order for myself and got a score of .10000
kinda makes me wonder about the threshold from 0 - 100 haha.

Does it actually screen anyone out, or it just merely reports on every transaction and you decide to cancel or fulfill?
Also, does the OC default use the Standard or Premium service?

I've found it very useful for catching those order from nigeria ship to new york orders as it shows where the order originates from. Though they are usually suspicious as it is (big ticket items or multiples of the same item = big $$), but cuts down my time having to research and re-verify them to 2 seconds looking at the fraud tab

I suggest setting your payment methods to "authorize" instead of sale so you can ignore the fraud ones and not capture the funds at all instead of having to refund them.

You may consider an alternative solution, http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=12317. It supports both the fraud score based and rule based fraud checking. Fraud score based may required time to train it correctly, but rule based allow you to precisely hold an order if a particular condition was met. For example, flag all orders if the billing country was different from shipping country. You will have all orders flagged for your review prior to your order fulfillment.
