Log in as... feature in 1.4.9?

I would love to upgrade to 1.5 but after looking around, there are some features missing that forces me to keep 1.4.9 until the new features are added.
One feature that makes me very jealous is the log in as.. feature of 1.5.
Is there a chance this will be implemented in 1.4.9?

What keeps me from upgrading:
1. no icons any more in front of the module titles
2. no tabulators on top of the website (home, login, account, checkout). These are plain texts again.
3. no "generate" button for the invoices (I know it is done automatically, but this feature was very useful)

There will not be a login as feature back ported. However, the original idea was a mod of mine that works fine for 1.4.x here:
