Hi

From what I read about 1.5, it is not going to support 1.4.x themes/templates. Is that correct, and if so, should I wait before spending $150 on a theme that will become irrelevant within a few months (big assumption here).

Please advise,

Best,

Tom

Well, here are some pointers to help you make the decision.

Does 1.4.9.3 cater for all your needs and any near future needs?
Read on the features which will be in 1.5.0. Do you NEED any of those in order to run your business?

It will be another 2 months before 1.5.0 will be completely stable (I guess).

Like bajaber says, do you need 1.5.x or would 1.4.9.3 do?

Thanks for the quick reply, you help me decide to go ahead and purchase the template now as indeed the current version of opencart answers all the needs of my client. In the future, we can always decide on giving the store a new look if we upgrade to version 1.5.

It is also great to know that this community is very responsive and supportive to newcomers and users of the cart.

Best

Can i ask, WHY are you paying $150 for a theme??? and its for a client? man i hope you charged him enough to cover it.

Themes are so easy to create for yourself, just take the time to understand the stylesheet and which div id's, classes link to which parts of the template and thats about as much as there is to it.

It could be a very customized theme and he would probably hold exclusive rights to it. Or, it could be within a big project's budget :D
