We are evaluating OpenCart for an upcoming project with the following requirements:
1) Provide a main multi-vendor market place website (e.g. market.com) where multiple vendors sell their products AND
2) Let vendors also have their own personal web store on their own top level domain (e.g. vendor1.com) in the same way as shopify does. They should also be able to select a theme from a pre-defined list of themes and perhaps even tweak minor layout elements.
Vendors should be able to have their own admin panels to maintain their own catalogs and selectively sell products through their own store and/or through the shared market place.
Ideally this should be done from a single installation and database.
There are a number of multi-vendor extensions for OpenCart like the one from PurpleTree, but that only covers requirement number 1 above. OpenCart does support multiple stores, although it appears that only the global admin can manage those out of the box, so it does not quite meet requirement 2 above.
Whilst we do have some development experience, we are hoping to find a solution that matches most of the above requirements with only minor tweaking required.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how we might achieve these requirements using OpenCart?
Thanks in advance

We don't support OC's multistore system, though. It's just not good in terms of the underlying architecture so using it even for a few regular stores is a challenge. There's not much sense in trying to use it in a multi vendor environment considering the limitations.
As far as I know, none of the other OpenCart extensions support it either, at least not in a way that's viable for a live two-sided marketplace.

Have you read what the OP asked? Does your solution support separate domain for every seller?knowband.plugins wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:15 pmHi novascape,
