Hello everyone,
What are everyone's must have extensions/modules?
I don't want you to just promote what you develop, but what you really feel every shop should have to make admin and/or shopping easier?
I understand all shops are different and therefore needs will be different, I'm just curious as there are literally thousands to choose from.
For me personally, my Admin ones would have to be one that let me customise the left navigation - this has made things much easier and quicker. The other admin one would have to be one that auto refreshes the cache after every change - it not only saves me time, but it's auto, so i never forget and then get poopy when things don't work lol
Ummm as for shopping ones, probably the quick checkout and one of those payment plan types (ie: afterpay/zip pay etc), oh and I like the little welcome messages customers get when they log into their account :-)
Have a great day/night everyone, wherever you are :-)

Well, some of your Wishes can be fulfilled for free, it might only depend on the
OC Version you use. That's, why I would never use later Versions, no free Mods !
Shown below are v.2.x - v.3.x Versions only!

Well, I am trying for 4+ Years already, to 'compose' the ultimate Admin Solution, but a
major Problem is, to then make all those Extensions work with other Extensions, as well
as the wide range of differently coded Themes. And if something like this ends up with
~100 VqMods, among a range of additional Modules, like in my Case(s), one cannot
longer expect additional Extensions, to just do their Job, without beeing reworked, or
even partly combined, first.
But as long as one has no 'finalized' idea on a Front Side layout Content, it's rather
complicated, to decide on what's best, since a Shop Site Design also depends on the
Products, one likes to offer.
Exept for strictly admin-related Functions, like a Database Editor, VqModerator,
OcMod Editor, Source-Code Editor, Language Editor, Cache Cleaner, Copy-Option,
e.t.c., among extended easy Customer/Category/Product handling, a well-done
'elfinder' based Image-handling tool, and a couple of Security related things. In
addition to some good SEO- and Reporting -Tools.
My Admin bases on the famous OpenShop Extension Idea, and it already had a lot
of Goodies built-in, to give me an idea, where to start best. And, as you mentioned,
it took me more than 4 Years, to test most seemengly usable Code, but it's impossible,
to keep an oversight, after a while. For someone, requiring a Shop to go online soon,
it would not work this way, I am aware of this.
That's about, what I can say to this !

bronts specified she doesn't want developers recommending their own extensions, so posts with recommendation for people's own extensions will be removed. Thanks
And what if extensions someone develops he also thinks a must have? The topic itself should be renamed then to "Which NOT YOUR extensions are a must have".

In the original first post, it clearly states...
So what are yours? What are everyone's must have extensions/modules?
I don't want you to just promote what you develop, but what you really feel every shop should have to make admin and/or shopping easier?
I understand all shops are different and therefore needs will be different, I'm just curious as there are literally thousands to choose from.
I think each OpenCart store owner has his/her unique preferences on what's needed for the site.
I always uses these extensions:

Thank you for your reply JNeuhoff
I can understand the positive reasons/benifits why you always choose them :-)
Anyone else want to contribute what they think are their Must Have Extension/Modules are?
Johnathan, as you have been a member for over 9 years now (WOW!) and a moderator with sooooo many posts, I'm curious what you think are must have's too?

I actually don't think you NEED to have any extensions to get OpenCart working fine, it's usable just fine out-of-the-box. However, people always seem to want some tweaks for their own personal preferences, which require extensions. Usually which ones are specific to what they need.
The extensions I think are generally applicable to most stores are:
1. vQmod, to make edits to core files, and for any extensions that require vQmod
2. A page cache extension (I use Jay Gilford's OpenCart Page Cache)
3. Some kind of search improvement extension, since OpenCart's built-in search is a bit weak. (I use my own, of course, but there are other decent ones out there.)
4. Most people seem to want an SEO extension, though I don't think that's really *required*. I don't have one I use or one to particularly recommend, but there are a ton of them on the marketplace.

Thank you for your input Johnathan,
I can especially see how a page cache extension would make life better (faster) for the customer.
Here in OZ, you would think being such a developed country our internet speeds would be great, but they are really pretty crappy, with the NBN (National Broadband Network) only becoming available in our area a few months ago and that is still slower than the speeds available in other countries.
