Maybe time to forget the utter stupidity of OCMOD and use VQmod ?

Indeed, I did get a reply when I notified them that any javascript and html could be added to the extensions description box, allowing me to add cross site scripting code and possibly hijacking cookies..

At least this was fixed within a few hours.

Maybe it's better to open source the code, so we can help fix bugs and send pull requests.. I wouldn't mind helping out.

There are better ways to handle OpenCart modifications: Event handlers, or Override Engine.

It seems not longer to be a real Problem, as it looks:
Integrated VQmod for OpenCart 2
This package provides an integrated XML-controlled search and add/replace modification system for OpenCart 2.x core files. In addition to OpenCart's OCMod XML you can now also use the VQMod XML for describing the modifications.
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=19501
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=28120
Good Luck! ;)

Ernie, the second link is the same Integrated VQmod, uploaded by someone else, I won't maintain that one. Any future bugfixes or changes will only go to the originally uploaded Integrated VQmod at https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=19501 . I don't understand why users upload the same software again to the OpenCart marketplace. This hightlights the need for some quality control for the OpenCart market place!

Well, sure. But, suppose you decide to use event handlers. You would probably then package them for download as a...wait for it...ocmod extension.

Which currently isn't installable without renaming the downloaded file :)

:hammer: Drifting off topic here lads, more to the point when am I and others going to be able to download extensions and be assured that 1 the dev will get paid 2 the user will get the support from the dev as he (the dev will have the sales record)

This situation looks like a diversion. Disrupt the normal operation of the site.
20 days is a long time for that would fix everything. The basic functions of the store are not working properly.
Who will be responsible for all this? >:( >:( >:( >:(

If reports takes days to work out it would be great to get payments before them (for developers).
