Opencart limits

hi, im thinking of creating my new website with opencart, i was confident with this untill the moment someone suggested Magento , now , the general idea im gettin is that magento is for larger businesses and opencart for small-midle..
but i cant actually figure out what this means ..
up to how many products opencart is consider to be working flowless
same question about visits
anyone can help ?
in my case im talking about 6-7k products and 2-3k visits per month

OpenCart can handle up to over a hundred thousand products without an issue from some customer's stores that we've seen. However, you will just need a better server.
OpenCart is light weight, compared to Magento from what I know. Magento requires much more resources to run, so it may not be the best if you intend to run it on a shared hosting.

If you have bigger budget for a better server, it can also be up to your developer. Depends on his preferences, which one he is more experienced with. Generally, OpenCart has no issue coping with a large store. We have customers bring in roughly 100 orders a day too without any issues / delay in page loading.

if is a one-man show probably OC is best for you.
Magento will cost you more to get a store up and running and also it cost more to maintain it. that said, don't forget that Magento is the market leader and that means something + many other applications support it.
Most notable is OroCRM which it looks like it's well integrated with Magento orders and customers and stats.
