Files and Images won't upload.

I am new to open cart I have installed it and works find now error messages. When I try to upload a file or image in open cart it does nothing. I am trying to change the logo image and other images.. I have also tried to install an image upload extension and when I click upload nothing happens? Does anyone have a idea why I can't upload files and images?

Have you checked the permissions on the /image/ and /image/data/ folders? They must be writeable by PHP
