Well, Journal3 is quite a poor quality bloated web theme, and is not compliant with the OpenCart standards.We use open car 2 with journal theme, and it takes over three and a half seconds to load a whole page
Also, switching from a PHP (OC 2) to a Twig (OC 3) template engine was a poor choice.

Hey Max D,
How to disable the button captions with text? I liked the original oc admin button icons only. Some extensions save button shows like "save save" repeated twice due to the button captions turned on by default.

You have to keep the original opencart footer.twig file. It is located at: admin\view\template\common\footer.twigiamstevenelson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 12:24 amHey Max D,

Yep, or remove this code from it (admin\view\template\common\footer.twig):
Code: Select all
$('.btn[data-toggle=tooltip]').each(function () {
var title = $(this).attr('title');
if (!title) return;
$(this).attr('data-toggle', '').attr('title', '').append(' ' + title);
});
Hey MaxD,
I recommend you to release the package for 3.0.3.8 latest version including the SEO URL fix suggested earlier in this thread and without button captions (which conflicts with existing extensions buttons). Please consider about the github repo for this mod package.
Thank you!

The results looks awesome!!
Now will install Journal V 3.2 beta as well to make test and report error to them as well. Looks like finally Journal also listen to OC_users compalints and start work in same directions.

Journal 3.2 is the biggest update for Journal since Journal’s first launch. We have recoded the framework almost entirely for much better integration with the core Opencart system and added radically improved performance and usability features both in the admin and storefront.
Hello MaxD,
I have OC 3.0.3.1 installed, and my web hosting company just dropped support for PHP 7.3 (They automatically moved my site to PHP 7.4, which broke some stuff in OC/Twig).
So, imagine my surprise when I saw your post! I have a question:
Can I simply upload your version 3.0.3.7 over my 3.0.3.1 (except for the config.php and admin/config.php files)? Is there anything else for me to do after that?
Thank you very much!

yes you can update OC, but first make a full backup, read https://docs.journal-theme.com/docs/update-oc
