Re: Slow time to first byte

Not sure why it would cause a delay, but that line pulls the modules that are on the homepage. It's possible if you have a specials module assigned there and have LOTS of products on special it will cause a delay. I have seen that one time on 1.4.x when a client had over 900 products on sale. I had ...

Re: will my site be fine if opencart shuts down?

that is correct. once it's installed on your server it has no reliance on or calls to opencart.com

Re: Basic question - Core Files

yes when you upgrade if you have made the changes manually then they will get overwritten. If you use vqmod as long as the string you are searching on doesn't change then your changes will stay in place.

Re: Basic question - Core Files

my suggestion would be to install vqmod and create a vqmod xml file to make the changes instead of just overwriting with their files.

Re: Search only 1 tag

It's not necessarily a bug just a limitation. If you search the extensions there are lots of extensions to change it in various ways.

Re: SMTP Invalid Header Error

you could try my phpmailer extension. I've found that phpmailer puts headers together in a way that pretty much always works. I always have problems trying to build them manually.

Re: [Released][Commercial] Vehicle Year/Make/Model Filter mo

alex1 wrote:yeah, it had the engine support, I believe it was the last version before v2... 0.9.3 ?
actually I think I was up to 0.9.6 or 7 before the move to v2, but at any rate you should be able to basically get away with a file overwrite to upgrade yours.

Re: [Released][Commercial] Vehicle Year/Make/Model Filter mo

Just got the latest from your site, thanks. There are no instructions that I can see (quick glance) for upgrading.. should i just disable the module, overwrite the files, and then enable? thanks well that depends. Did the version you were using have the engine support? if so then yes you can simply...

alex1 wrote:nm, i got this fixed.. was an error on my part. I'll email you for v2... thanks!
no problem.
no need to email for v2 just login wherever you purchased and download it. Everything is merged into v2, so it will get downloaded as the main download from either the opencart extension area or my store.

Re: [Released][Commercial] Vehicle Year/Make/Model Filter mo

well there is still the issue that there is no code in the default opencart or my mod that could throw the error you claim. 0.9.3 should work without errors, but you really should upgrade to v2.

Re: [Released][Commercial] Vehicle Year/Make/Model Filter mo

I'm back at this now, and started working on a site today. When the canonical URL is used, the page doesn't load with this module. Here is the error in php_errors.log: [25-Jan-2012 05:25:34] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method ModelCatalogCategory::getCategoryPath() in /vqmod/vqcache/vq2-cata...

Re: Vqmod not working on localhost!

there's really only two things that need to happen for vqmod to work. It needs to be able to write to index.php and admin/index.php in order to install. You can check that by looking at those files and making sure that they have the vqmod stuff in them. Then it needs to be able to write to vqmod/vqc...

Re: How can I further speed up my website?

if I had to take a guess I would say that the category count queries are still getting run somewhere. Maybe the vqmod didn't pull it all out because of your theme or something, or maybe your theme is doing a recursive query to pull all the categories somewhere.

Re: Version 1.5.1.3.1 vs 1.5.1.2.1?

no you should definitely use 1.5.3.1 at this point. The reason that the bug thread for it is longer is that it's had more time to build up because it wasn't very long between 1.5.1.2 and 1.5.1.3, but it's been a while we've been waiting on 1.5.2 now.

Re: Add item to cart using URL

I don't think you can do it with a simple url. It think it needs a form with hidden fields at the least since it requires post data.
