Re: Opencart 1.5.6.4, PHP 7.2 and UPS module errors

Ok weird! That http://www.ups.com/ups.app/xml/Rate was under the URL for the *TEST* section and test mode IS TURNED OFF in the module configs!!!!! So I put $url = 'https://onlinetools.ups.com/ups.app/xml/Rate'; for BOTH the test and the non-test line and BOOM it now works! WTF? Sorry but all I can s...

Re: Opencart 1.5.6.4, PHP 7.2 and UPS module errors

Already changed the system/library/encryption.php File, to make OC Versions work with PHP7 ? They all should work, regardless of the OC Version. But Peku's Extension probably only up to PHP 7.1, as I recall, for what reason ever. Ernie Yes I did also found this in the error log: [05-Dec-2019 01:31:...

Opencart 1.5.6.4, PHP 7.2 and UPS module errors

Hello, As seems to be the case my webhost seems to want to force an update when it is the bigger selling season. They updated to PHP version 7.2 and now UPS is dead. Or a better way to put it, I get "internal server error" pop-up when I attempt to go to the shipping selection step. This is what I en...

Re: Bridging gap between OC 1.5.6.4 and 3.0.x

There is more to my post then TWIG too. And it's only a very few, left from the OC heydays, where lots of Fans existed too. But the 'global mentality' has changed, all over the place, not only around here, because the World is shrinking into a 'local' Marketplace faster than ever before. Good Luck!...

Understood and I am doing that but any further suggestions would be helpful. There is more to my post then TWIG too. First of all, you should understand, that nobody will waste his time teaching you OpenCart for free. So start digging into tutorials, read the code and learn everything by yourself. ...

There are plenty of online tutorials about how twig works.
If you do not want to rely on a developer, I suggest you read those.

Re: Bridging gap between OC 1.5.6.4 and 3.0.x

We'd be happy to have a look, it might be that you can make 1.5.6 work with PHP 7 without too many changes. Also have you seen this? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47178389/converting-opencart-tpl-into-twig That is a nice offer but I would like to learn the differences as I do not wish to have...

Bridging gap between OC 1.5.6.4 and 3.0.x

Hello, While I am very happy with 1.5.6.4 time keeps on marching and with PHP V7.x being pressed into a lot of web hosting I have started to look into OC 3.x. There are a lot of changes from TWIG, OCMod, and events. Is there anywhere that does a bridge of knowledge for .tpl to .twig? Also the same f...

Re: Opencart 1.5.6.4 with PHP 7.1

By validate, do you mean validate it is set? i.e. isset ? Correct. Also why was it working prior to the update to php 7.1? Industrial change. Which is why, troubleshooting is important so not to stick on same OC version for several years. Thank you for the replies... And there brings up the issue.....

Re: Opencart 1.5.6.4 with PHP 7.1

You still need to validate the $this->request->post['email'] prior to pass its super global parameter from the browser into the model. Otherwise, the validate() method may loose its focus since the login page may rely on a last entry point of location on the store-front where the email parameter ma...

Opencart 1.5.6.4 with PHP 7.1

Hello, My update to php 7.1 went fine with only one contrib that I see that kicks an error BUT still seems to function. It is for multi-store and prevents people from logging in using accounts from different stores to log into other stores.... In controller/account/login.php I added under protected ...

Re: Sql query: get option_value_id ONLY if the "name" field matches option_value_description

I replied I don't know as I use a contrib to make site updates so maybe the option ids are not static. Exactly, you are using an extension. As mentioned on my above post reply, since you're using an extension, contact the extension developer of that extension to see if this can be done. If what can...

Re: Sql query: get option_value_id ONLY if the "name" field matches option_value_description

If option ids are static, can you not loop through product ids and avoid text field searches? That piece I don't know 100%. I was under the impression using the import/export tool it changes the option ids when you do an import. I'll have to look through the logic again as I looked recently and I s...

Re: Sql query: get option_value_id ONLY if the "name" field matches option_value_description

If you're looking to use a custom code from the import / export tool, contact the extension developer to see how this could be done with the multiquery method. This is NOT what I am doing. I use the import export tool in normal upkeep of my site. IF that tool changes the option IDs then it would al...
