Re: [RELEASED] Mailchimp Newsletter Signup Module

You raise a good point, I should probably look at the export feature 'syncing' the OpenCart db with the mailchimp list rather than a bulk push so to speak.

Re: Extensibility - A collection of research and ideas

Can see your points Q, earlier you said you did some benchmarking or some performance testing. Was there anything noticeable? Any idea at what point it might cause performance issues if you applied x amount of mods and received x amount of server requests?

Re: [RELEASED] Google Analytics PRO Module

The issue was that a db query was missing the DB_PREFIX constant which meant that if you are using a db prefix then it would return an error. This has been fixed and if anyone wants the update just flick me your email via PM. The issue has absolutely nothing to do with paypal or payment gateways and...

Re: Extensibility - A collection of research and ideas

What are the advantages over what Daniel has done with tpl files falling back to the default path if they are not present?

Couldn't this be replicated with core files

Re: Credit card is double billed if coustomer clicks more th

A 99% fix would be to disable the button using javascript after it has been clicked, something like: 1. Button is clicked. 2. Button is disabled. 3. Text is changed to sending... (or similar). 4. Opacity is set to 0.8. That would provide feedback to the user and avoid the "have i clicked this right"...

Re: [RELEASED] YourBox MULTI Module

Can't remember of the top of my head whether that version change was major. Easiest way to find out is if you PM me your email address I'll send you a copy to try out.

Then we'll both know.

Re: Extension Store Discussion & Feedback

So basically, take what other people are doing and improve it rather than try to do something no one else is doing. But this is actually how phpbb (and I assume other forums) do it. If 3 people report a post, it goes disabled from non-mods until a moderator oks it. And it's not abused. I don't thin...

Re: Extension Store Discussion & Feedback

Yeah I agree with what your saying. I think I can sum up my point of view by saying we don't need to reinvent the wheel. Why not leverage what others have already done. Why not pre filter extensions is there's only 10 or so per day and if that takes you an hour or so then why not move your position ...

Re: Free v Commercial Add-ons

Also, if the reward for effort is too low then why not up your end. The current 20% is low compared to most template or app marketplaces. I'm sure your aware that not only do most marketplaces give the developer the lesser end of the deal but they also set the prices. Now I'm not advocating you take...

Re: Free v Commercial Add-ons

This sounds like a bad idea. Totally agree with rating but disabling availability based on voting down??? Honestly is this really going to save you guys time or are you going to end up having to mediate disputes and manually check extensions anyway? Wouldn't it be better to have mods pass a basic te...

Re: No need to readd your extensions

Design wise: http://extensions.joomla.org/ - Nice on the eye and functional. Suggested improvements:- 1. Ratings - If I'm correct anyone who is logged in can rate a product. Why? Products should only be rated by people who have downloaded (paid or unpaid). If my assumption is correct it's pretty cle...

Re: Free v Commercial Add-ons

No one does expect him to do everything. It's entirely his decision as to whether he accepts offers of help from the community or not and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't use that as an excuse for the current state of the extensions directory.

Re: Free v Commercial Add-ons

I completely agree with HTMLCSSNoob that people shouldn't be stealing others' work to re-sell in the Extensions section. That's beyond tacky, it's immoral and in bad taste. The problem is that you can't know for sure if it's been stolen or just is the same functionality, unless you purchase it or h...

Re: HELP FILES DELETED AFTHER UPGRADE

This thread should be made sticky.

A cautionary tale for those that don't back everything up fully before making major changes.

Good luck, as Q has said your host seems to be your only chance.
