Re: 1.5.5.1 INVOICE printing extra blank page

Ok, even before I posted the above, I was trying to figure it out for an hour before... But I've found the solution!!!!! The "user agent stylesheet" in chrome (possibly other browsers too) automatically always adds an 8px border on a page... In "admin/view/stylesheet/invoice.css" add manual values f...

Re: 1.5.5.1 INVOICE printing extra blank page

I fixed this.. For the books - in case anyone else needs it: in admin/view/template/sale/order_invoice.tpl I changed the line <div style="page-break-after: always;"> to <div style="page-break-after: auto;"> This doesn't work if you select more than 1 invoice to print... the following invoices start...

Re: Print blank extra invoice page

I'm also interested in this, but can't find an answer... If I use the above method, the invoices don't print 1 per page, the next invoice starts at the bottom of the first page (an auto page break, rather than a new div to each page). It's not a big issue, but it's annoying to print a few invoices o...

Re: PayPal Standard, Customer able to change address

Ahh, thanks Cue, I forgot to update this thread that I had got the paypal address non-editable... It was actually much simpler for me... for a UK address, paypal didn't require the state field (because some addresses, such as major cities, don't specify a county)... I was able to simply change this ...

Re: [SOLVED] Setting newsletter to "yes" on default

Thanks OSWorX, It's certainly an interesting subject, and I thank you for bringing it up, as I wasn't aware of it... It's a subject that one could spend hours (if not days) researching... But for me, I'm only shipping inside the UK, and from what I've read I'm convinced it's ok to have opt-out for m...

Re: [SOLVED] Setting newsletter to "yes" on default

hmmm, a google translate of those german wiki pages is hard to understand... But I just made an account on amazon.de, and I was NOT automatically signed up to the newsletter... But this is not the EU law, this is a German law? An English article on the EU directive: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dire...

Re: [SOLVED] Setting newsletter to "yes" on default

I found this on the Information Commissioner's Office website: From 11 December 2003, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 became law and two new rules came into force regarding email marketing. 1st Rule • when they send marketing emails to you, the sender must n...

Re: [SOLVED] Setting newsletter to "yes" on default

Hmm, I do apologise, I wasn't aware of this law! And of course ignorance is no defence! But... I've spent the last 10 minutes googling it, and can't find anything confirming this? I did find this site: http://www.lsoft.com/resources/optinlaws.asp#1 It says: "Exceptions: A business relationship in wh...

Re: Setting newsletter to "yes" on default

Good point. This feature doesn't seem to be included even in OC v1.5.2.1. It should perhaps be an option from the admin. I don't think it should even be an option... What online shop would not want to encourage users to sign up to a newsletter?... Even if there is a scenario where it would be bette...

Re: PayPal Standard showing billing address as shipping addr

This is still happening in 1.5.6

A customer enters a different billing and shipping address, but on the paypal page it shows the "postal address" as the billing address, not the shipping address from opencart?

PayPal Standard, Customer able to change address

OC v1.5.6 Having done some reading on this subject, I realise that it's not possible for opencart to only use a verified paypal address... The customer's address is whatever is entered in the opencart checkout. This isn't ideal, because if I send products to an address different than the verified pa...

Re: Make Region / State a Text Field rather than Drop Down B

Ok, just to update any future readers... I didn't have any use for the "company" field, so I made that the "county" field (by renaming it in the language files)... I then set the address format in the country to have {company} in the place where county should be, and removed zone. I also had to remo...

Re: Make Region / State a Text Field rather than Drop Down B

The other thing I don't like, is that it requires some customers to enter an address incorrectly if their correct address format doesn't use a county (region/zone). An example of this is Bristol. For people that live in Bristol, the correct address format is just to use Bristol, and not the county.....

Re: Make Region / State a Text Field rather than Drop Down B

Thanks for replying :) I'm on v1.5.6. I fail to see the need for safeguards against misspellings that text boxes invite... Everything else in the checkout is text fields (apart from country of course), so there's plenty of opportunity for buyers to type mis-type other parts of their address that are...

[SOLVED] Make Region/State a Text Field rather than Dropdown

I'm in the UK and shipping to the UK only and use flat rate shipping, so I don't need shipping calculated based on region... How can I change "Region / State" to a text entry box that will pass through the data to the order? I've already found and changed the code in the tpl files to this: <input ty...

Re: Make Region / State a Text Field rather than Drop Down B

I've been searching for about an hour on how to do this correctly...

I am using flat rate shipping, and would prefer a text entry rather than a drop-down list (just because the list is so big). If I just change the field type to text entry, will it cause any problems?

Re: Upgrading VQMOD with renamed admin directory

I've always found the easiest way to install vqmod with a renamed admin directory is: simply rename your custom admin folder back to admin, install/update vqmod, rename admin folder back to custom.

Re: Is there a way to automatically change price on low stoc

Bump?

Should this be in a different forum maybe?... I'm imagining it would be possible with a little bit of code, but I need pointing in the right direction as to where I could put the code... And if I'm honest, help with what code to put there :D

Is there a way to automatically change price on low stock?

I'd like to be able to automatically increase the price of an item when the stock level drops below a specified number (e.g. 5 left in stock)... I want to do it because my stock can be hard to obtain sometimes, but many customers would happily pay a slightly higher price (e.g. +20%) than see that it...
