Re: opencart 1.3.2 image/ image/cache what gives?

the client has 1GB of images so far in the main image/ directory. huge site.

i noticed that some of the images he'd uploaded were in the 200kb range, so is it ok to resample the large originals down on the server without doing harm to the front end?

thanks,

dave

Re: opencart 1.3.2 image/ image/cache what gives?

yes, but once the resized images are created, isn't the original just dead weight on the server? why would you keep the original on the server (where space is at a premium) after resizing?

Re: [solved] upload 32kb jpeg, OC generates a 119kb jpeg??

Just found a fix.

system/library/image.php line 38. Change "quality = 100" to "quality = 70".

oh, and I do not optimize the jpeg before uploading as i was doing before, the optimization is done on the server end.

[solved] upload 32kb jpeg, OC generates a 119kb jpeg??

Hi,

I've got my large image size set to 500x500. So I upload an optimized for web 500x500px jpeg that weighs in under 50kb. But when I download the same image from the front end of OC, the file has ballooned to around 150kb.

Is there a fix for this?

thanks,

takayuki

[fixed] Re: seo url option not updating htaccess file

FIXED!

the url for this site was a temporary url before the domain is pointed to the server.

www.baseurl/dir1/dir2/dir3

so i had to change the RewriteBase to

/dir1/dir2/dir3/

now it works.
