Re: PayPal Express Spins and never completes processing

Perhaps I should have said shortened to protect customer data :) Which bits would you like to see? More tests show that IE certainly seems to be at least part of the answer. We don't know which browser customers used for their successful order. They may well have switched to IE which would tend to v...

Re: PayPal Express Spins and never completes processing

Update: Feedback from one customer is that the issue does not occur with Internet Explorer, so it might not be a PayPal issue after all.

PayPal Express Spins and never completes processing

OC 3.0.2.0 I have had a very few customers in the last two days say that the PayPal Express checkout just hangs and never completes the payment. I tried myself on the live site (not test mode) and had the same problem. I have cleared my browser cache and paypal cookies and cleared the OC caches to n...

Re: Problem with order confirmation e-mails and SMTP mail engine

Haven't gotten to the bottom of this, but plain Mail engine now works fine after sorting out mail filters.

Re: Problem with order confirmation e-mails and 'Mail' mail engine

<red face>I had a mail filter on my own address. I can only think I added this a LONG time ago to block people spamming me and faking the from address.

Mail engine works fine now :)

Re: Problem with order confirmation e-mails and 'Mail' mail engine

Thank you for your reply, but I can't see any problems there. Also, the Mail Alerts are selected in the System > Settings > Mail.

Re: Problem with order confirmation e-mails and 'Mail' mail engine

I used the method here https://responsive-muse.com/2017/01/21/how-to-check-if-php-mail-function-is-enabled-in-your-server/ which suggests that my host has disabled php mail. Well just ask them? Yeah, but you replied quicker than them :) In any case if sending to the customer works, surely php mail ...

It looks like the initial problem is fixed, thank you.

There is a new problem but I will need to start a new thread about that :(

I need to do more testing...

Re: Store works locally but not on server

After a very short test it seems to be behaving much better. What controls the browser cache headers? I found https://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=161164 which links to https://varvy.com/pagespeed/leverage-browser-caching.html Is that a good route for some research on my part? Any other hints ...

Re: Store works locally but not on server

Yes, the folder exists: file_exists('/vhost/vhost14/session'); returns 1

I also tried changed it in php.ini to a location in my own space but it made no difference.

I also remembered the https redirect is already on, as a setting in my hosting control panel.

Re: Store works locally but not on server

Which database settings should I check? /config.php /admin/config.php They look OK and the database is being accessed, e.g. all product details are OK. I noticed you have this: session.save_path /vhost/vhost14/session Does that look correct? /vhost/vhost14 is the root of my hosting space. I haven't...

Re: Store works locally but not on server

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I am afraid I am probably not qualified to do this, but the success on my localhost made it look easy :) I can run php_info() on the server but don't know what to look for in the output. I have attached it. Could it be a confusion between http and https requests? I wond...

I can't make it live in it's broken state, other than a few minutes at a time, as that would not impress customers.

Re: Store works locally but not on server

Deleted the store and started again. At first it seemed to be working but after some time it misbehaved again. It may be something to do with Chrome caching pages. Clicking refresh in Chrome sometimes seems to correct things but clicking the store logo on the homepage adds things to the cart. My con...
