Re: Digital downloads pointing to remote files

I've free mods for both opencart versions here: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension&filter_username=artcore Cheers Wow - thanks Artcore! Is the external link secure - in other words, only available to the customer (so the link can not be distributed publicly by the customer ...

Re: vqmod and ocmod cannot work together in opencart 2.0?

vQmod and ocMod work fine together, but if modifications change the same file, it's possible there will be conflicts. This is no different than having two vQmods or two ocMods that modify the same file. Thanks Jonathan! Is there a way to check if there are other mods changing the same file before i...

Re: vqmod and ocmod cannot work together in opencart 2.0?

What if you are using OC 2.0.3 and have some extensions only available in vqmod and others only available in ocmod ?

Export/Import Tool

I have a new install of OC 2.0.3. for a new store. It will have about 200 categories and 800 products.

Will this extension help to BULK import new categories, products, etc (as opposed to editing existing products, categories, etc)?

Re: migration from custom php cart to Opencart

I am now struggling with the migration (bulk import) of about 200 Categories. So I am essentially trying to add new categories in phpMyAdmin via either a SQL statement or CSV - but no luck. There are 6 category tables in the OC database. The category_id is an auto-incremented field so I'm not sure h...

Re: Digital downloads pointing to remote files

The original post is from 2011 - but I have I the identical situation and I'm hoping there may be a solution for 2015. I am selling digital downloads (mp3) which are hosted at a different host than my OC website. Any suggestions how to accomplish this?

Re: migration from custom php cart to Opencart

I just imported nearly 30,000 customer records doing most of the work on a spreadsheet. The method I used was to create extra columns with formulas to confirm to the opencart fields. for example geo codes etc. where I did not get exact matches (using vlookups for example) I would flag the mismatche...

Re: migration from custom php cart to Opencart

Here what I would do and what you will end up doing at the end: - Get CSV Import / Export for Open Cart 2 - Make a sample CSV file with all the columns that you can fill from your old cart. - Export all the data from your old cart's DB from phpMyAdmin or Navicat into a CSV file. *(if you are advanc...

migration from custom php cart to Opencart

I am about to undertake a first time migration from an existing, custom developed (php/MySQL) e-commerce site to a new Opencart site. The existing site has about 900 digital products (mp3 files), hundreds of customer accounts, and a few thousand past orders. Each customer account retains it's past o...

Re: Is OC the right cart?

... difficult to receive a negative answer here, in Opencart official forum!!! M LOL, yes that's true! However, I thought there may be a few developers like myself here or end users - who have used a few different things depending on the circumstances. I would also appreciate any insight from long-...

Is OC the right cart?

I'm a professional web designer for many years (custom sites, Joomla, Wordpress, etc) with limited OC experience (developed one site 3 years ago in version 1.5). I am considering recommending OC to a customer with a low budget. Seeking the thoughts of someone with more recent experience, and conside...

Re: How to put custom html - is there a module that I can us

I need to create about 30 different sidebar HTML boxes - different one for each info page & product page (and in various positions). I know the Welcome Module will do that and several other "HTML" extensions will too. However, in the admin for the Welcome Module (and similar HTML extensions ) it nam...

Re: why is the homepage so complicated to create?

In the admin for the Welcome Module (and similar HTML extensions) it names the module tabs that you create in a generic way like "Module 1", "Module 2", etc. If you make lots of those modules it's hard to identify them later. Does anyone know how to modify that so the tabs can be given their own cus...

Re: Full instructions on the new Super Message Kit module

anyone get this to work on OC 1.5.2 ? This is similar to the "welcome Module" and I am especially interested in the feature that replaces the vague title (module 1, module 2, etc.) that the welcome module uses in admin. Instead it apparently lets the user enter a unique title so it' s easier to iden...
