Re: Creating Pages

Why can't you just enter your static content using the Information pages? What more are you trying to accomplish?

Re: How to change text in Admin Panel

Open admin/language/english/catalog/manufactuer.php and change all the references from Manufacturer to Artist.

This may help: read this post for more information on how OC is structured: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=4113

Re: Hide empty categories

Right now, there is no simple way to do this. I would recommend putting an option in the admin side where categories can be enabled/disabled, just like products. Perhaps Daniel could do that for the next version?

Re: How to sort category list a-z

If you're referring to the admin screen, there is no sort to the list. If you're referring to the categories box on the catalog side, open file catalog/model/catalog/category.php and at the end of line 10, replace ORDER BY c.sort_order with ORDER BY cd.name ASC.

Re: Advanced Users

All you need to do is create a new user group and then set Access and Modify permissions. Turn all off except catalog/product. They would need to only be able to modify their own products... Products are not assigned to individual users, so there's no way to limit certain users to edit only certain ...

Re: Installing Open Cart on Go Daddy

So I've decided i HATE godaddy....worst host ever ermm.. first off.. yes Godaddy sucks I third that. I won't even work on a website that's hosted on GoDaddy. Perhaps you can convince your client to switch to a better host ;) . Sorry, I know that probably doesn't help. You probably need to contact G...

Re: Contact Us- Delete Store's Telephone

Not sure why you wouldn't want to have a phone number for customer to call if there's a problem, but the easiest way to do it is open admin/controller/setting/setting.php , and down around lines 408 to 410, look for this code: if ((strlen(utf8_decode($this->request->post['config_telephone'])) < 3) |...

Re: removing prices from the shopping cart

I'm not sure what features you may need, but perhaps OpenCart may be too much. It sounds like you're generating leads more than selling a product. If that's the case, I would recommend ShopScriptFree . Then you could just edit the Smarty template files to hide the prices. This is just an alternative...

Re: Information Box>Blank Page 'continue' button link.....

Well, that depends on what you want to do. If you just want to get rid of it, open catalog/view/theme/default/template/information/information.tpl and remove this code: <div class="buttons"> <table> <tr> <td align="right"><a onclick="location='<?php echo $continue; ?>'" class="button"><span><?php ec...

Re: Rearranging Information module page order

By the way, to keep Terms and Privacy from getting deleted accidentally by admin, open admin/view/template/catalog/information_list.tpl and replace lines 35 to 39 with: <td style="align: center;"><?php if($information['information_id'] > 2) { ?><?php if ($information['delete']) { ?> <input type="che...

Re: Rearranging Information module page order

I had a similar need where I wanted to put Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy in the footer, under the copyright. Here's the basic steps I followed with a fresh install of OC 1.2.9, customized for your needs: 1) First, we want to put the information pages into a more logical order. Go into admin ...

Re: Customer Groups v1.0 for OpenCart v1.1.8

Glad it suits your needs ;D . One thing I did have to do was to manually add the customer groups as there were none listed when I logged into my admin. Did you import the customer_group.sql file? It should have added Regular Retail and Wholesale groups. If you did it manually instead, as long as it ...

Re: Display customer firstname on Account page

OK, here's the quick and dirty method. Edit /catalog/view/theme/ default /template/common/layout.tpl and paste the following code wherever you want your welcome message to appear. I placed this after <div id="breadcrumb"> so it displays in the breadcrumb area (see image below). <?php if ($this->cust...

Re: Display customer firstname on Account page

The quickest and easiest way to do this is to edit /catalog/view/theme/ default /template/account/account.tpl and paste this single line of code BEFORE this line: <p><b><?php echo $text_my_account; ?></b></p> <p>Welcome back, <?php echo $this->customer->getFirstName(); ?>!</p> ********** OR ********...
