Re: spend £100 get £5 off help

That can also be done 'out of the box' using a coupon, but that relies on the coupon being 'applied'. This can be a good thing as the process of having to apply a coupon adds perceived value, but it can work the other way with customers not applying the coupon correctly then asking for refunds after...

Re: Can't view orders, Access denied / undefined error after SSL installation

You didn't like my security restrictions remember. ;) I posted this before you started that other thread and when I replied to that I didn't realize you were the same poster (or I might have taken offence!) :) Anyway, thanks for sharing your solution, hopefully a mod will mark this as solved now.

Re: warning division!!!!!!!

$price must be zero at that point change the line to $discount = ($price>0)?round( ($discount / $price) * 100, 2 ):0; you will probably need to change it in the mod itself as the modification will soon get overwritten when other changes are made. In fact you should really alert the mod developer to ...

Re: Setting up site for developer / programmer, need tips

There is far worse a developer could do than steal data. Unless you are a developer, you will probably not understand the dangers. (To add to what Krotek said) So if a customer clones a site and changes to customer data to avoid them finding it, so what. The developer could write backdoor scripts, w...

Re: Setting up site for developer / programmer, need tips

Well, this place may be different from what you have seen before, but OC is all about money, so, one cannot expect, to make many friends, to start with. For most Visitors, its more a TAKE and GO anyway, and such behaviour kind of 'shapes' this Place, in a very 'unique' way. So, it's not as easy, as...

Re: Setting up site for developer / programmer, need tips

Whoa, it sounds like i stepped on some very long toes lol. Not at all, just stating as it is but I can see how you might think that with me putting it in one long sentence. I am a business owner and there are at least a dozen devs on here I would trust. I don't mean the rest are untrustworthy, but ...

Re: Setting up site for developer / programmer, need tips

If you don't think you can trust developers that frequent these forums, regularly offer help for free and whose reputations would be irreparably damaged if you reported that they had abused your trust then I suggest looking on freelancer and selecting someone with relevant experience and a really go...

Why don't you want to hire a developer and work with him for a while on less sensitive tasks? Let him earn your trust.
Great idea. Except that some developers could be female?? - LOL

Re: Setting up site for developer / programmer, need tips

So my question is, how do i deny the developer access to sensitive data? There is a problem with the question. If your site is having problems, the developer really needs to check the site in situ as a stripped down clone may not manifest the same problems anyway. I think you need to find a develop...

Re: TTFB 5 second

Wow, thats shocking! I just tried it on google pagespeed insights - it scored 0/100!!! That is disgusting https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Ffastortheme.com%2Ffashion6%2F&tab=mobile Although a few things can be done to improve, I think the theme is the problem h...

Re: TTFB 5 second

Thats saved over a second on sql queries. There is still loads of duplication though, probably due to the theme, I can't tell without looking. An sql cache would help a bit, I have developed one myself, but it would not fix a badly written theme, just reduce the 0.9 seconds each page is spending on ...

Re: TTFB 5 second

Every other line is SELECT * FROM oc_setting WHERE `code` = 'timezone' Is that part of that theme? that is not normal. Thats probably over half the time taken! Search for that query (not the whole string as the oc_ is variable) and see why its doing that. Its like its attached to the db engine to pe...

Re: Questions regarding OpenCart 2.3.0.2 (SEO Links and PageSpeed)

1) seo links for non product/category/info pages such as checkout - why? You don't want Google to try checking out on your website do you? in fact its a good idea to exclude checkout, cart, account pages etc. from search engine crawl using robots.txt because they are not suitable for indexing. So se...

Re: TTFB 5 second

Even though that theme doesn't seem to show category product count, is that option enabled in store settings? You could try my advice from this other thread linked below and post result log file here, we will soon see if it is database problem https://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=190&t=184033#...

Re: OpenCart Limit on Product Options

Instead of having the code as an option with hundreds of values, why not just make it a compulsory text field where they enter a uniform code? That way you also wouldn't have to keep adding options. You could maybe even add some clever JavaScript that pops up and does the selection from a list or wh...

Re: 4 second+ TTFB on category pages - Opencart 2.1

@adambgart - great that you got it down to a sensible speed, well done. @ernie - All this effort, have you got a real world shop that sells anything?!? oc_product_to_colour - not familiar with that one? As this is oc 2.x thread, so are you getting same results on oc2? Whats the 640mb? Do you mean th...
