Re: vQmod not parsing some files

There's nothing in the error log (that I haven't deliberately added myself), other vQmods work without issue and I don't have a vqprotect.txt. I also tried making a mod with deliberate errors just to make sure that VQMod would catch them and it did - which is what's making me think it's a problem wi...

vQmod not parsing some files

Does anyone have any tips/tricks for vQmod debugging, or common vQmod 'gotcha's? I'm looking at a problem at the moment that is either downright esoteric or staring me in the face (more likely the latter) - but as yet haven't cracked it. A file is not being parsed, despite another file in the same m...

Re: Auto Update the total when we increase the qty in cart

OpenCart uses JQuery, so you could add in some JS to submit the form whenever a given text area is updated without too much trouble. ...but it already updates if you hit 'enter' in one of the input boxes, and if the customer changed the value to 0 then you'd probably want to double-check with some s...

Re: Are enhancement suggestions ever adopted?

I've been following this project since 0.something or other and it's still going strong - and, if anything, Daniel has mellowed over the years :) ...As it stands now, the shipping module options are very limited and clumsy.

Re: SQL query to change address format? new line?

What you're doing should work - have you tested it with an order in OpenCart? It might just be PHPMyAdmin displaying the value without the carriage returns/linefeeds. UPDATE oc_country SET address_format = "{company} {firstname} {lastname} {address_1} {address_2} {postcode} {city} {country}"; If the...

Re: Region/State missing in UK zone listing

In case it's of any use to anyone, these are the postal regions for Gibraltar ready to paste into PHPMyAdmin (assuming you still have Gibraltar with its default ID of 83): INSERT INTO oc_zone (country_id,`name`,`code`,`status`) VALUES (83,'Reclamation North','1',1) ,(83,'Sacred Heart','2',1) ,(83,'R...

Re: Arabic Opencart from Left to Right

You could add: dir="rtl" to the html tag in your template, e.g.

Code: Select all

<html dir="rtl">
..and/or double-check your Arabic language files to make sure they're specifying RTL for the direction.

Re: Use cart as catalogue

At a simple level, you could just take the cart out of the template and replace the cart pages with a redirect to some other page (in case a visitor recognises OpenCart and tries to manually enter a URL).

Re: Is it legal to remove power by opencart.

Opencart has both an affiliate system and a multiple storefront feature (which could be modified to support your ambitions).

Re: Footer Sticky to Bottom

This sounds like a CSS/layout issue. Are you using a custom template and can you post a link to the site you're working on or an example of the problem?

Re: Anyone have a mod to hide Manufacture's that have no pro

Haven't tested this, but guess it would be modifying the query in getManufacturers (in catalog/model/catalog/manufacturer.php) to something like: SELECT m.manufacturer_id,,m.image,m.sort_order,m2s.store_id FROM oc_manufacturer m LEFT JOIN oc_manufacturer_to_store m2s USING (manufacturer_id) LE...

Re: Need advice on code change - suggestions please

$data = $this->language->load('catalog/product'); Something like this would be brilliant, the language stuff seems like the largest/most obvious target for paring down the code. It might upset some mod authors who have vqmod instructions looking for language loading lines, but I can't imagine any o...

Check grants during installation

During installation, if your database user doesn't have the right permissions then you see a blank page after completing the form on step 3. It'd be better if there was an error message. I made a very quick/dirty grants check to get the ball rolling in case anyone else wants to add a proper one to e...

Re: Heart Internet Shared SSL

This is speaking a little out of turn and not answering your question, but it might be worth considering moving to a proper host (e.g. Krystal or any of the UK hosts recommended by other forum users) if you're running an online store.

Re: Disable zones

What you've done already sounds like the most sensible suggestion. If you're feeling brave, you could modify the JS that looks at the selected country to produce the list of zones and have it disable the zone selection instead (while adding your default zone details to the request) if your country i...

Re: Site speed, trying to determine if it is host, or site

Is another project of yours or something belonging to the host?
Without any other info to work from, maybe it's doing a poor job as a DNS server and needs replacing? There are free DNS services you could use instead of one on your own domain(s).

Re: Adding variable to pagination page ?

what happens if you do this instead?

Code: Select all

$pagination->url = $this->url->link('account/whateverpage', '&word='.$word.'&page={page}', 'SSL');
may not fix it or work at all, just guessing based on the path and variables being separated in the function parameters.

Re: unable to alter CSS body bg-colour

I guess you have a solution now, but is there anything in your vQMod error log that might give a clue as to what was happening? Maybe vQMod didn't like something about the file (e.g. there's not CDATA wrapper around the version details). You could try recreating the file by using a copy of a file th...
