Re: redirect help with opencart please new install

If you put the site into maintenance mode then you can work on the site while normal customers will see a maintenance message so you could look at adding to the maintenance message?

Do your hosts not have a backup you can restore from?

Re: Specific link issue

I just checked the tracking code and it does work if you use it like this: myurl/?tracking=CODE Once the user buys something there will be a field in their order details page where you can confirm the commision. The commision then gets shown under reports>affiliates. This should at least enable you ...

Re: Category Assistance

You could try something like: RewriteRule ^index.php?route=product/category&path=68$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/index.php?route=product/product&path=68&product_id=74? in your .htacess file I havent tested it but it should point you in the right direction. If you havent figured it by the time I log back on ...

Re: Specific link issue

Im sure you can do this in that version too. Go to: Sales>Affiliates Click the blue 'insert' button to create a new affiliate. There you will see a field called 'Tracking Code:' just enter than name you want to use there. I havent tested it but usual rules will probably apply. (use a-z, 1-9 _- etc b...

No problem. I forgot to say that this works on 1.5.3.1. Cant recall earlier versions as I never used it until this version.

Re: Category Assistance

Only way I could think of would be to do a rewrite in your htacess file redirecting requests for the category to the actual product page.

Re: Specific link issue

Why not just use the affiliate option? Set up the grocery store as an affiliate yourself and set the shop name for example as the affilate tracking code? that way you can give the link: www'mystore.com/joes-veg-shop

Re: Required attributes and displayed by default attributes

here's one mod that does the dispaly all attributes: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=3709&filter_search=attribute&sort=e.date_modified&order=DESC (not mine but for $13 it's gotta be better than spending your own time doing it?) Aquick search of the exten...

Re: Disable "Quantity" in Options and Discount (need help)

Cant you just set 'Display Stock: NO' in settings and then set the quantity to 10,000 or higher? I think there may be a mod that does point 2 but by default in OC you would have to add these manually on each product. PS:I'm sure when someone who can answer your question sees them, they will try and ...

Re: VAT

No problem. Shout if you get stuck. If you havent installed the import/export mod I would definitely get it. Its free and enables a lot of sitewide 'product' changes to be done in minutes using excel. (for this you would just add a function to deduct the correct percentage from your product price) I...

Re: REWARD POINTS AND OPTIONS

I dont think it works for anyone. I'm on 1.5.3.1 and its still not fixed on this version. Was supposed to be fixed for 1.5.2 but seems to have never happened. Hasn't mattered to me so far as I never needed product options with an increase in price but a new site I'm launching does so if I find anyth...

Re: Paypal setup issues

Yes, I guess not everybody will stick with the OC defaults. Anyhow, you got it so good luck with OC. I've also tried many carts over the years and this beats even some paid ones hands down straight 'out of the box' and its not 2 expensive to add a few mods that make life easier.

Re: VAT

PS:A quick fix for now just to show the correct price at product page level at least is to remove the 'Tax Class' assigned to each product. (Again, the import/export mod would be the easiest way to do this) or maybe set your VAT level to 0%? (Not tried, just thinking aloud!)

Re: VAT

Yes, this works on my local test install. I have a geo zone, tax class and tax rate set up for the UK, the prices are uploaded minus VAT and 'tax class' is set to my tax class and the store set to 'Display prices with tax:NO' and 'Taxes' order total enabled. This shows the ex tax price on the produc...

Re: VAT

Right, sorry I follow! Not sure if you can do this without modifying the template or core code as someone said earlier but why not add the price minus tax and let OC add it? Would save a hell of a lot of work? If you set up oc as I described above it will do exactly what you want it to.
