Re: does opencart work out shipping out-of-the-box?

That's beautiful! Thanks - I'l be using your handling fee mod as well so double thanks! I seem to have done something to bodge up the opencart admin section as it now redirects to install/index.php. It happened after I re-uploaded the admin and catalog folders so I'm doing a fresh install. The reaso...

Re: does opencart work out shipping out-of-the-box?

Basically I'm using the royal mail module and I'd like to know if the shipping rates are built in to opencart. From your reply I take it that it does?
Thanks,
Dan

does opencart work out shipping out-of-the-box?

Hi there, I'm using version 1.4.9.1 and I just need some clarification about whether opencart works out the shipping cost according to the product weight entered automatically. Also, do the product dimensions have any bearing on the shipping cost? I only ask as I can't seem to find any info explicit...

Re: Possible way to implement drop shipping

Yes I intend to discuss what exactly we're dealing with before diving in. I believe there are 3 or 4 different companies so I could be looking at a potentially nightmarish scenario here but we'll see. Thanks.

Editing <title> tag - version 1.4.9.1

Hi There, I know this has been discussed in the past but the solutions applied to older versions of opencart. Anyhow, it would be great if the title of each page were to be like so: "product | category | shop name". However, I''d also like to add my own keywords into the titles for seo purposes and ...

Re: Possible way to implement drop shipping

Yes that would be most useful. In the meantime I've noticed Qphoria's shipping by product module so I'll be investing in that I reckon.

Possible way to implement drop shipping

Hi There, I'm creating a site for a client with opencart version 1.4.9 from a clean install and he'd like to have drop shipping for some items. I understand that opencart doesn't support this but I was thinking of setting a flat rate and applying this as the only shipping option to drop ship items. ...

Re: List categories

Hi There,

I know this is a bit old, but would you care to divulge as to how you solved this problem? I'm trying to add an arrow next to the parent of each subcategory in a dropdown list I created and I'm having a little difficulty so I just need to add a class to the parents.

Thanks,
Dan

Re: Different image sizes - how does it work?

Hi There, Sorry, it was early in the morning and I've got a deadline looming so I wasn't fully with it when I made the post. I was referring to all of the computer images that come as default with the opencart. Anyhow I've now tested it out by uploading a large image and it is indeed shrunk into a s...

Re: Different image sizes - how does it work?

Ok, well I've looked in there and it appears that there are different image versions for each size. Do I just upload each image size and opencart automatically selects the correct size for each scenario?

Different image sizes - how does it work?

Hi There, As there are different image sizes displayed for each product, ranging from tiny thumbnail to a massive zoomed in image, does opencart automatically compress an image depending on its size, or does one have to upload different sized images for each situation (if so, I can't find a way of d...

Re: Categories drop-down list working but correct method?

Well I'm going live with the site soon so could I possibly have some reassurance that modifying the module/category.tpl file (in my own template folder) to get a dropdown menu functioning won't screw the site up in the future? I would use the methods described using the controller files but they don...

Re: Categories drop-down list working but correct method?

Ok, so I've added the following menu code to the header.php, beneath the main php code and it displays fine until I add the php from the category.php page where below I've add the *****. I've tried adding individual parts of the code but that isn't working...gosh, this must seem rather tedious to a ...

Re: Categories drop-down list working but correct method?

Actually I was wrong - it didn't work after all. I hadn't uploaded the original category.tpl. I could just leave it as it is with the code inserted into the category.tpl file but I'm not sure that having the same list of links repeated twice in the same place would look good in the eyes of the searc...

Categories drop-down list working but correct method?

Hi There, I've got a Superfish drop-down menu working for the categories by placing the menu code in the module/category.tpl page and adding <?php echo $category; ?> where I want the categories to appear. Great! However I'm wondering if this is the best method of achieving this as if I were to updat...

Reduce columns of products to two

Hi There, I'd like to reduce the columns of products from the default 4 to just 3 columns. I'd do this in the css file but the columns are in a table. In the themes documentation it specifies only the css, header and image files to be transferred from the default theme. Is there another file I can m...
