Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

To me, holding back on how you develop because servers need to catch up with the technology is a nonsense argument really. You're essentially saying lets not progress because servers aren't upgrading, where servers are going to be less interested in upgrading if they don't have the demand for it. It...

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

However is important for those who read the 2.0.2.0 Available now to know is not a usable build. I completely agree. Information related to the release is welcome, but lengthy conversations about creating a fork and how to go about it is off topic and of no relevance to the large portion of people ...

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

Firstly, I'm not part of the opencart development team - I'm a forum moderator so I don't need to give any of the details you've asked for. Secondly, the only way I'd know those details is the same way you would - if they were given by the developers or if I went through all the github repository. T...

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

As previously mentioned, if you want to start a fork, all the best of luck to you. I'll be deleting all of the posts regarding it in this thread as they don't contribute towards this discussion. If you want to open a new thread and link to it here then do so, but this is not the place to be having t...

Re: Have an improvement suggestion?

I take it you have a washing machine? - well let me tell you that your brand of washing machine is most likely part of a brand group but leaving that aside if you needed a part for it what is the first criteria you would search under? Your brand name of course but what your not aware of is that qui...

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

Best thing to do is make the changes and submit a pull request - more of a chance of it going in that way :-)

This is already on the github issue tracker and has been for some time. Seems a bit weird to me too tbh

Re: Have an improvement suggestion?

pretty sure "thousands of us" is an exaggeration. I've never seen a request for this before on the forums. It would also break backwards compatibility for tens of thousands (not an exaggeration) of stores. I'm not even sure why you would need multiple manufacturers, but chances are this won't be imp...

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

I'm well aware of the differences between the two, I write the VQMod engine with Qphoria. I'm pointing out that the XML you supplied is not an OCMod

That's VQMod not OCMod. They're not the same thing (unfortunately)

If you guys are going to continue the discussion on a separate project, can you please start a new thread away from this as it's now massively off topic

Thanks

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

For the same reason a lot of things aren't done in what are considered a better way - because Daniel chooses not to. It's really no secret that despite people proposing solutions, most get ignored. Considering how little time Daniel must have to go through forums etc it's really no surprise that mos...

Re: OpenCart 2.0.2.0 Available Now

While I understand the principle of the single/double quote argument above, you're forgetting that single quotes are used in the SQL queries themselves and that is why double quotes are used - so that you don't need to escape each one. Yes I'm aware that you could code it using a better method, i.e....

Re: Several small issues, but more in the future.

It's definitely magic quotes that adds the escape slashes. Just because its not set in php.ini doesn't mean it's not being overridden in another place such as a .htaccess file or somewhere else. You should check this with phpinfo(). For the browser issues, from what you've said this is more likely t...
