The developers of OpenCart were the ones saying the new version would have this feature and that feature built in and they were delaying release of 1.5 to allow these to be incorporated. I had to Google 'Mosaic Browser' as been so long since I had heard the term. ;D Sadly 1.5 not having the shipping estimator built in now and probably also without PayPal Express and Google Checkout being part of the CORE program for a while, OpenCart just isn't a viable option for me in the near fut...

I am not sure that it is as severe as loosing customers though. On one of the templates for OpenCart, can't remember exactly which one as a few months ago now, the site looked fine, until I tried it in IE6 and the checkout button was totally non functioning. Now I'm sure THAT would lose customers.....

IE6 usage had dropped dramatically to less than 2.5% in December I would love that to be the case so I just checked statistics on three of my hobby websites, all of which do well over 10,000 pageviews per month but sadly, they all report a completely unchanged 10.1% overall IE6 usage. Actually I've just found a brilliant stats site that shows detailed browser usage by country. For the UK and the States, IE6 usage had dropped dramatically from over 7% in the summer, to less than 2.5% in December so its demise is rapidly accelerating now. Screw IE6.. little time will be wasted on IE6 from now on. I'd recommend adding a javascript warning to your site telling people to come out of their caves and get the latest version I have one site using a straight to PayPal/Google cart that works brilliant APART from the fact the design elements ...

Probably more than any other factor, the thing that really hacks people off with online shops is the checkout process. More so where that process is over long, asks for everything but your shoe size and your first sweetheart's name, or you get confused as to where you are now, or where you are going...

Irrespective of legal requirements, invoicing systems, hooks or any other criteria, the one thing that is going to benefit most users, is for the poor old customer to finally see what the shipping charges are, WITHOUT having to go through the farce of filling in forms to get that basic piece of info...

The one change I would really like to see, is where templates from version 1.5 onwards will be forwards compatible.
Im sure that many shop owners (and some developers) get put off with templates no longer working every time a new version is brought out.

yea i really don't understand the zencart comparison... zencart is so different from opencart it may as well be another language. I am thinking that somewhere in the distant past, programs like Zen and Magento never set out to be the complex, difficult to use, bloated offerings that they are today....
