ah ok. I thought Multi-lingual is built-in fully to Opencart but I guess it's only implemented partially.

Opencart Multi-lingual site in relation to SEO

I'm curious on how opencart handle multi-lingual site and how it is perceived/indexed by seo? I tried setting up a new opencart site (using OC 2.3.0.2) for testing and understand that OC uses cookie to indicate the language selected and there's no changes in the URL. How does this affect Search engi...

Re: Unused Module?

1) not sure exactly what this is for but there are errors in the coding so it will never work, which is probably why you cant see it in admin Yup I figure it's an incomplete module there. I wanted to add menu item to the admin linking to a module but I guess the only way is through ocmod/vqmod now ...

Unused Module?

I'm setting up a new OC 2.3.0.2 project to test out how it is before moving my existing 2.1.0.2 site and there's a few things that bug me: 1. What do oc_menu, oc_menu_description, oc_menu_module do? It seems to be added few months ago, but I'm not sure how it works and how to use it. I initially tho...

Getting Deepest Subcategory of a Product

Is there a quick way to get one of the deepest subcategories of a product? For example, Category Structure: - K - K > L - K > L > M - K > L > N - K > O - K > O > P - K > O > Q Product A is in category K, L, and M. I would like to show in <h1> of the product page, a category (similar to breadcrumbs),...

Re: Individual Product or Opencart Options from SEO Perspect

Journal theme is a great looker, but notirischly heavy and slowing down sites. There still is some improvement to be made. if you check gtmetrix, you see you can optimize images even more, and serve scaled images. You probally just have to adjust image size in adminto match image size used in templ...

Re: Individual Product or Opencart Options from SEO Perspect

I would also take into account where best to spend your time doing the extra keyword research and seo work. I wouldn't waste too much time on low profit items like toothbrushes and toothpaste (that probably most people buy at their local grocery store), and more time on things like guitars that I a...

Re: Individual Product or Opencart Options from SEO Perspect

I think it depends on several factors, including customer experience and the way they shop. One of my biggest product categories is shoes. In the beginning, I was doing 1 product with many size/color options. However, I found this got a bit unweildy for the customer if a style had more than 3-4 col...

Re: Individual Product or Opencart Options from SEO Perspect

Something canbe sayed for both methods, creating a product for each option, would make more pages leading to more content, using product tags to group these pages would give search engines a good insight that these product belong to same product with different options or specs. on the other hand, c...

Individual Product or Opencart Options from SEO Perspective?

I've been curious about "Options" feature in Opencart in terms of SEO benefit. In a number of Opencart and Theme sample sites, you can create Options like Color, Size, etc so that when someone look at a product, say a shirt, the visitor would be able to pick which color or size they like to order. T...

Re: How do I re-open an Issue in OC GitHub?

I think that may be on purpose. Since the directories are supposed to be like "en-gb" now instead of "english", the assumption is that the image will be "en-gb.png". See here, for example: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/blob/1aa0262d727f662044fde233411c0b30b4663546/upload/catalog/view/theme/d...

Re: How do I re-open an Issue in OC GitHub?

couldn't wait so I tested the fixes in latest branch and it works now as expected. I do find another issue w/ Admin > System > Localisation > Language though. The screen is different from the docs http://docs.opencart.com/system/localisation/language/ and adding a Language is now more cumbersome bec...

Re: Install language for OC 2.2

Same here. Was testing out OC 2.2 from a clean install and it fails on many areas, including this one: language options not available (drop down instead of text box). I tried inserting the code from DB and it does appear in Admin, but it fails on front end.

Correct, it even killed my Browser, trying to load your Site aling with other Browser-Windows opened, and I have not even Scripting Activated for your Site, bummer, bummer.... :choke: In addition, your image Subdomain is not cookie-free either, so, it does not really make much sense, to even use on...

Image subdomain issue has been solved. Apparently the template I used (Journal 2) already have the implementation ready (although not as I initially imagined it should be: https://images.primanada.com is pointing to https://www.primanada.com folder instead of https://www.primanada.com/image/ folder ...

my Posting is NOT prior to v.1.5.6.x, and it works exactly the same way in OC-2: Sample Site V-2: http://www.jti.li/shop/ Ernie I'm guessing you mean this link: http://devs.mx/topic/388-increase-page-load-performance-by-use-of-an-image-subdomain/?p=2108 ? I've had a look and it is for 1.5.6.*. I un...
