[Available] OpenCart 0.7.9 -> 1.4.x upgrade tool!
not a normal "how do i do it" topic... I've contacted http://www.shopping-cart-migration.com/ and help them by giving them a opencart 0.7.9 installation and they made a working transition too from opencart starting at 0.7.9 and to 1.4.x, so now you can upgrade easely, only problem remainin...

Can we make an extension that ad needed info on products / categories and then are used in front end ?
like I want to add something like a personnalized input per product that is outputted in the product page in the front end ?
or it would have to be hardcoded ?

It's pretty simple each categories and products would be able to chose his own theme, and in the front end the theme will change if the product/category have a custom theme. is it fesable and realistic? i'm a prog, I just didn't analyse yet in the code if it's doable. can we change the theme before ...

the canada post option are drived by canada post themself, the plugin does not compute anythings it just send a request with the from and the destination to a canada post sellonline server, the option received are the options you got, it seams that canada post are only able to go to this place by xp...

i've tested it on a fresh install of 1.3.4 and it does not work properly too, so it's a change that occured between 1.3.2 and 1.3.4.
I Haven't found any docs on the changes... can someone point to a clue ? i'm desperate here...

Explication : appliquer la TPS et TVQ
Pour les Canadiens / Québécois, il y a une taxe un peu bordélique appeller TVQ (Taxe de Vente du Québec) elle est à 7.5% présentement, mais vu qu'elle taxe une autre taxes (TPS) de 5%, dans une vente, les taxes de 5% et de 7.5% ne s'additionne pas, mais se multiplies, donc ce n'est pas 12.5% de taxe...

Canada post module for 1.3.2 fails in 1.4.0
I've repaired a module done in 1.3, and made is compatible in 1.3.2, now i've install it on a fresh install of 1.4.0 to see if I can port it (canada post module) it install it seams to work in the front end when i tried to "edit" in the back end I got a white page without even an error. is...

sometimes in french we have composed UTF8 characters that give us accented chars é, à, û, ô, è, .... In UTF8 they are composed of multiples chars, in HTML they can be "literalised" with HTML codes like é = "é" when a ISO char is passed as UTF it give a "?" si...
