that is os and user preferences dependant.. you would need some very fancy javascript if you were to acheive it.. try looking for a javascript combo box module :)

Looks great :)

One suggestion, the orange/yellow gradient would be better if it filled the width of the page :) (I use a widescreen LCD).

Templates are utilized based on a universal layout file (layout.tpl) then customized modules and content template files.

Have a play with the default template to learn more :)

your database collation needs to be set to utf8_general_ci

In phpmyadmin run this query

ALTER DATABASE `database_name` COLLATE 'utf8_general_ci';
