Daniel wrote:ok I just added a note at the top telling people they need to be a programmer to try this. Actually Q. can you write some upgrade instructions.

Re: OpenCart 1.4.1

Daniel wrote:I'm not sure why its getting so big aswell. still way under the 50mb of magento.
Personally, it doesn't bother me at all. ...It's just a running joke, between Q and I, over the size of SilverStripe. ;)

I think anything under 10 MB is just fine.

OpenCart Logo - My 2 Cents

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in, about the OpenCart logo. I liked the previous one. This one just doesn't do it for me.

Re: OpenCart 1.4.1

First off, thanks Daniel! Good job!

Second, Q, did you see the size of that download. 7.3 MB! That's almost a MB more than SilverStripe! ;) LOLZ!

Re: OpenCart v1.4.0

You've got to be kidding. Make it an add-on module? There's no true modularity to OpenCart. Get the modularity fixed first, before you ask Daniel to yank anything out and make it an add-on module!

Re: Integration with Joomla?

I am working on the integration of OC into Joomla - but will need some time, because at the moment I am not really full satisfied with the current OC code (maybe 1.4.0.1 gets better). Cool, joomx. Please keep us updated on your progress. And maybe you could work with Daniel, to get some things in O...

Re: Integration with Joomla?

I really want this to. I was contacted a while ago by peter russell one of the people responsible for marketing Joomla. i also have the guy that wrote the 1.5 version on my skype list. Maybe you can convince them to keep their code open and not encrypted. It would really popularize Joomla, OpenCart...

Re: Integration with Joomla?

Can say only one: hands off. Why? 2 reasons: 1. encrypted (who knows what this component is sending home) 2. runs not with php 5.3 (Zend does not provide an encoder for this version) Thanks for the heads-up on this. Yes, the source needs to be open and unencrypted. ...Too bad. It does look interest...

Re: OpenCart v1.4.0

remember, for each thing feature you want daniel to add to the core, that means he has to support it, slowing down releases and other new features. There's an old saying, "Many hands make lite work." I think the core should be as robust as possible and more (good) hands should be allowed ...

Re: OXID

Did anyone - like Q or Daniel - check this out? Opinions? It's obviously a competitor, but so is PrestaShop, and there are lots of constructive criticisms - here on the OpenCart forums - on this eCart. So, if anyone has tried OXID, I am curious to know your thoughts.

Re: [SECURITY ISSUE]Empty folders

But securing websites (and NOT trusting providers) should be one of the highest priority. Because nobody can trust hist provider, or webmaster, or admin. What I am saying is, chose another hosting company then. By default, when a shared hosting or a VPS is created, it should be automatically secure...
