New Theme Install

I have opencart 1.5.6.4, with a theme installed (that I've customized), along with various modules. What is the recommended best way to install my new theme without crashing everything? Just follow the standard routine recommended for installing (upload, select, enjoy) or is there a better way? On a...

Re: Upgrade from V1.5.6 to V>?.?.?

Thanks for the link/info.

So, I am having second thoughts... what's the benefit to upgrading opencart to 2.2?

My site is working fine/great... no issues.

Upgrade from V1.5.6 to V>?.?.?

I have been on 1.5.6 with a custom theme with modules designed for this version. I am among that last to have a responsive site and want to make it responsive. I figure it's probably a good time to upgrade Opencart to a newer version.... but which one? I'm thinking 2.0 or 2.2, or should I just stay ...

Re: Upgrade from 1.5.4 to 2.2 and new template

So, I should upgrade to 2.2? There are responsive 1.5 themes. Also, the upgrade should/may be easier since I'm not trying to upgrade my existing 1.5 opencart to 2.2 (theme, extensions), but rather installing a new theme and plugins on 2.2, I just then need the database to transfer over????? In theor...

Upgrade from 1.5.4 to 2.2 and new template

I upgraded from OScommerce a few years ago to opencart and did just fine (a few things here and there) I am now ready to upgrade my site as it's not responsive to a site that is responsive. So, I figure it's probably a good time to upgrade from 1.5 to 2.2? Or, should I just stay at 1.5 and get a tem...

Order emails not sending to customer

I am having an odd problem that comes and goes where the order confirmation emails are not being sent to customers. I am using the mail function and using -f. I get the admin order email, but the customer does not get theirs. Other emails from the site work fine (contact us, for example). It seems t...

Order Emails not sent to customer

Hello. Using 1.5.6, and in June, customers started to not receive their order emails. I called my hosting company, 3 times now, and it gets fixed to only stop working days or weeks later. One time, the solution was to "reset stuff" (whatever that means) The other time, I was taken down to php 5.4 fr...

Re: Customers Not Getting Order Confirmation

Thanks for the recommendations... I spoke with bluehost, and they moved me back to php 5.4, and the customers started receiving their emails again... and now it's stopped again, and I'm still on PHP 5.4. Another weird thing with email: All emails always come into my email application (Thunderbird) o...

Re: Change Product Image Directory Name=no images

Well, I made a backup of the 2 tables from my database, and then pulled the trigger. Worked well, and the image URL's have changed from "data/product images/" to "data/product-images/" using the above referenced coding Just in case someone needs this in the future... I went to the tables gtk_product...

Re: Change Product Image Directory Name=no images

Thanks for the help! More information: I found that the image URL's are located in 2 different tables in the database. gtk_product gtk_product_image A question, I'm sure there's a way I can replace data/product images/ imagenamesthatvary.jpg So it reads (with the dash): data/product-images/ imagenam...

Re: Change Product Image Directory Name=no images

The thumbnail updates but the product images do not.. any thoughts on why changing the path in the database itself to the image does not fix it?

Does "assigning" it withing opencart do something different? If it did, wouldn't it be listed in the database?

Thanks.

Re: Change Product Image Directory Name=no images

Here's what I did:

Created new folder
Went into db and changed the path
Only the thumbnail is using the new path. The main image is using the old path

Are these image paths in d different areas of the database?

Re: Change Product Image Directory Name=no images

So, my option is to change the folder name, and then go and reselect each product image, so I updates the URL pointing to the product image and corresponding thumbnails?

Thanks.

Re: Change Product Image Directory Name=no images

I was hoping that there's a fast way I can change the folder name (I never should have made a folder name with a space), so it doesn't have a space any longer, but without me having to "reset" the URL's for the product images.

I assume this is handled somehow in the database

I'm wanting to change the name of directory where I have my images. the current folder name is "product images" (yes, with a space) so the image link looks like this: http://www.example.com/image/cache/data/product images/taco.jpg I want to change it to "product-image" (with no space) http://www.exa...

Mark item out of stock without using inventory

I don't use the inventory system to mark items out of stock, as I use it as a quick method to count how many of a particular item I have sold. Is there a way I can mark an item out of stock and display a message tied to the "out of stock message I can assign under the product? In Admin, I go to cata...
