Re: Admin Edit Orders and Specials Price

Well, thank you Burt, for your lecture. I hope you accomplished your goal of feeling superior. I find it mildly humorous (sad, really) that in your entire pontification, you still managed to avoid answering one, very specific question: Why is it considered normal behavior for the price to change whe...

Re: Admin Edit Orders and Specials Price

Try this: go into a shop buy something then walk out of the shop, then return into the shop and tell them that you bought the wrong item, or the wrong number of items. Watch what they do! Unless, that is, you live in a place where people don't care about the legality of things.... I can tell you wh...

Re: Admin Edit Orders and Specials Price

Hi Burt, I appreciate your feedback and advice. Allow me to ask a different question: I understand that it is not advisable to edit orders (although I doubt that 100% of "real-life" business simply void an invoice and create a new one). However, why should the price change when it is edited? Everyon...

Re: Admin Edit Orders and Specials Price

Hi Randem, Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that is just another "workaround" and not a real solution. It requires us (the store owners) to make manual calculations every time there is a change to the order and it also changes the order history for the customer, so if they go back and view th...

Admin Edit Orders and Specials Price

For some reason, OC will not respect the specials price when an order is edited, which results in all sorts of bizarre workarounds ( http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=151343 ). Apparently, this not considered a bug ( https://github.com/opencart/opencart/issues/3797 ) and, of course, any...

Re: Strange behavior on edit/delete orders (admin side)

That's funny - I posted a bug report on github as well and within 24 hours it was also closed without a fix or explanation. I guess that's the way they handle bugs they don't like - they ignore them :-) I hope someone out there can find a fix for this. It doesn't seem very complicated - just enforce...

Just wondering if anyone else sees this bug or cares about it.

Re: Strange behavior on edit/delete orders (admin side)

But it is a very small chance that both admin and customer at same time edit cart
That's not very comforting :)

If anyone else can verify and possibly provide a fix, that would be great. I personally think it should be reopened on github.

Re: Strange behavior on edit/delete orders (admin side)

You are right, this is how it works.
Do you mean it is supposed to do this? I think that could cause a big issue for the admin because if a user modifies the cart when the admin is editing it, the admin may not realize it, and thus change the order.

Re: Strange behavior on edit/delete orders (admin side)

After testing what you've posted, as a customer whether separate device or not, I'm certainly not seeing the deletion of items from my cart doing any "messing up the order on the admin backend" not in customer front end account history either, even on the same browser/device as admin, so I'm not ev...

Strange behavior on edit/delete orders (admin side)

I posted this to the official 2.1.0.1 bug report yesterday http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=191&t=152650&start=20#p593573 : 1) When admin goes to edit an order (Sales -> Orders -> Edit, then clicking "Continue" to get to the "Products" tab), the associated customer cart is populated with pr...

Possible bugs on admin

Not sure if these are bugs, intentional features, or just me. 1) When admin goes to edit an order, customer cart is populated with products in the order. If customer logs in, they see their cart populated with their previous order. This can (and has) cause confusion. 2) When deleting an order, click...

Special price not respected when edit order after end date

I've searched around but I couldn't find anything that relates to this. I have some products that have a discount price using the "Special" feature in products. Occasionally, a customer orders an incorrect item and lets me know after the Special expires. When I edit the order (Sales->Orders->Edit), ...

Re: Can't login to the admin! Please Help!

I am having a similar issue. I am trying to set up a store for a new customer, so I downloaded the latest version, uploaded it to my server (linux, CentOS, apache, php, mysql), followed all the steps for a new installation. When I go to the admin page, I enter in my username and password, but the pa...

Re: Filter module opencart 1.5.5.1 - Guide?

Hi, I really like the new filter module, but I have a question: Suppose I have two filter groups, such as "Color" and "Size" If "Blue" is selected under "Color", all products marked "Blue" in the "Color" category are returned. If "Large" is selected under "Size", all products marked "Large" in the "...

Re: [RELEASED] Export/Import tool for OpenCart 1.5.0.x

Hi, First, let me thank you for this excellent module. I highly recommend it to anyone. I was wondering if you have any plans to make a version compatible with 1.5.5.1 which would incorporate filters in the import export tool. I have tested it with 1.5.5.1 and it works well, but there doesn't seem t...
