Sub-categories appearing twice

Hi all I'm currently using Opencart via Aceshop for Joomla. I've tried contact Aceshop with this issue but they are being useless at responding so wanted to see if any of you kind folk can help! I've got a customised sub-category layout on our site, which uses OC Extender's vqmod ("sub_category_imag...

Customer login problems

Hi all I'm running Aceshop (Opencart based Joomla component, v1.4.8). Today has sprung up a fairly strange issue out of the blue. Customers on our site are seemingly not able to login, and the website does not appear to be remembering login details. I have tested this morning by resetting a customer...

Re: Image file size handling - cached images

Hi Billy - thanks for your reply - I've been working all day to reduce the file sizes so suspect it's was fixed before you looked at them. @Granddaddy post at the start of thread proved very useful - after making this tweak and clearing the cache the resized images were about a 1/10th of what they w...

Re: Image file size handling - cached images

Thanks again for your thoughts - all very helpful. All images are saved for web - I generally target 100k for the file size (using PNGs) - product images are typically 500 x 500 in size. The strange bit is that I think the original file sizes are ok, the issue is when they're being resized they seem...

Re: Image file size handling - cached images

Thanks very much for your thoughts. I have no real special requirement to use PNGs - I'd started using them at the outset as I found the images were crisper than JPEGs but hadn't appreciated how big the image size issue might become, especially with the cached images (or indeed at that stage how man...

SOLVED Image file size handling - cached images

Hi all Wondered if I can pose a quick question. We've recently seen a slight up tick in visitors to our website but this has resulted in some high usage with our web host who has now warned us and is requiring us to reduce our usage. I've been reviewing page load times across our site (http://www.st...

Re: Creating interactive banners

Thanks for the reply. I agree - I'm sure that's what that theme is doing. I'm basically trying to replicate, but have an image with multiple links on it going to different URLs. I can create the images and button using Photoshop and my limited Dreamweaver knowledge(!) but then not sure how to get th...

Re: Search issues

Annoyingly JoomAce aren't playing ball - my subscription with them expired a few weeks ago and they're refusing to look at this without renewing - which feels a bit overkill to just get over this issue. I don't mind editing the code myself with a few helpful pointers. As you say Jonathan, if I searc...

Creating interactive banners

Hi there We currently run an image banner on the front of our site ( http://www.stickerscape.co.uk ) however I'd like to add a bit more functionality to this by adding buttons and call to actions across it. A good example would be this, http://themeforest.net/item/apparel-opencart-template/full_scre...

Search issues

Hi all Quick question - I'm using Aceshop integrated into a Joomla site so appreciate the following question isn't really Opencart related (but Joomace aren't being that helpful!). The default search module in Joomla isn't behaving as I wish - I've got a module sitting in the header which in theory ...

Re: External links for slideshow extension

Hi - sorry for delay in replying. Yes I have the "http://" in (the exact link is "http://www.nurserytrader.co.uk/en/product-reviews/stickerscape-height-chart-sticker-review", but still defaults to adding the base url to become "www.stickerscape.co.uk/http://www.nurserytrader.co.uk/en/product-reviews...

Re: External links for slideshow extension

Hmmm after checking the banner files there was no obvious area that was putting in the domain URL.

Anyone any other thoughts on this?

Re: External links for slideshow extension

This is URL in the field link: http://www.nurserytrader.co.uk/en/product-reviews/stickerscape-height-chart-sticker-review/ In the same banner I also have others linking internally which are URL relative to my domain e.g. farm-themed-stickers/farm-themed-stickers which will go to http://www.stickersc...

Re: External links for slideshow extension

Thanks for swift reply. Double checked both files and both were per the code you have above.

I'm running Opencart on a Joomla platform (via Aceshop) - could that be impacting it?

External links for slideshow extension

Hi all Quick question - I have the slideshow extension running on the frontpage of our website, http://www.stickerscape.co.uk . I've recently added a new image which I want linked to an external website. I read some previous posts that noted to have an external link the link box needs to be in the f...

Re: [solved] Removing "Refine Search" on the category page

Hi all! I'm running Opencart 1.5.1.3 - I've followed the instructions above in order to remove the refine search however all I found was that it removed all the text within the refine search (i.e. I was left with the title etc.). I created a separate post with a screenshot (http://forum.opencart.com...

Removing refine search from sub-category

Hi there I wondered if someone can prod me in the right direction. I'm implementing some sub-categories on my site and want them to run off the same layout as the main category (a grid view). The easiest way I've found to do this is to edit the category module and create a new layout for these sub-c...
