Re: Download my own extensions?

Image attachments are broken in the forum. If you right-click and choose "Open Image in New Tab" then you can view it properly. (Hopefully Daniel will fix this someday...) The Download button is when you're editing the extension, next to where you remove a download file or add a new one. ...

Hi
In the extension form, Downloads section. I attached a screenshot.
Sorry I cannot view your attachment. It's not clickable and the thumbnail is only about 10 pixels tall. It looks like you may not be looking at the store front end though.

Today I noticed a new download button which allows me to download my own extensions.
Where did you notice that? I don't see any such button. Can you please post a screenshot?

Re: Updating PHP version would affect the opencart site?

If I replace the old 2.3 library with your suggestion, will I run into problems with old orders, api or anything? Sorry just saw this - yes it should work. I've since changed one line of code - the new version checks iv length in case encrypted string is invalid: final class Encryption { private $c...

Download my own extensions?

Is there some way I can download my own extension? I need to verify the content that's being served is correct but can see no way to download it as if I were a paying customer.

Re: Scammer opencart.us.com

The emails my clients received all came through the Contact Us form in older versions of Opencart (pre 2.0). Pretty sure there's a botnet scanning for Opencart sites and sending these emails. As Daniel suggested in our correspondence, it would be advisable to replace the older captcha with Google re...

Re: Updating PHP version would affect the opencart site?

Glad I could help Ernie. I originally submitted a variation of this as a rewrite for OC2+ due to the empty IV issue that throws a warning on current PHP versions. The rewritten function uses all modern openssl() functions and there is a pull request in here (https://github.com/opencart/opencart/pull...

Re: Updating PHP version would affect the opencart site?

Here's a drop in replacement for system/library/encryption.php that will work on OC1.5.6.4 and PHP7.2. Unlike the current version used in OC3, this will not produce the empty iv warning " Warning: openssl_encrypt(): Using an empty Initialization Vector (iv) is potentially insecure and not recom...

Re: Warning: htmlentities() charset `UTF-8;' not supported, assuming utf-8

As was discussed above, this specific issue was related to an .htaccess syntax error.

Re: Floormats Website

To let customers know that we have chat and can check back during regular hours. I suppose we could hide it when no one is around but I'm not sure it makes a difference either way. I'm happy to pass feedback on to the site owner - Do you have an opinion on this or was it just a question?

Re: Warning: htmlentities() charset `UTF-8;' not supported, assuming utf-8

The .htaccess was created automatically with php_value default_charset "UTF-8;" Nowhere in the Opencart base has that declaration ever existed. I'm not sure how it made it's way in to your installation but you can verify what I'm saying by browsing the releases on github. In theory, the c...

Thanks Ernie - the absurdly large images were a carry over from development and have been optimized and replaced now along with a few of the icons that were unnecessarily large.

Re: Warning: htmlentities() charset `UTF-8;' not supported, assuming utf-8

Quite unusual to use the htmlspecialchars for an API regarding PayPal for output purposes. Ok well then why don't you take your complaint to Daniel or do a pull request and leave me out of it. See lines 50,51 here: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/blob/master/upload/catalog/controller/extension...

Re: Warning: htmlentities() charset `UTF-8;' not supported, assuming utf-8

Your screenshot mentions: .tpl file. You are NOT using v3.0.2.0 and / or you are using an incompatible extension with v3.0.2.0. That is what you said. It isn't true. That's all I was addressing and I'm not interested in debating about this. As for the UTF-8 function, if there's no need to use a fun...

Re: Warning: htmlentities() charset `UTF-8;' not supported, assuming utf-8

There's no reason to specify the character set for a function when it's already part of the configuration file. Especially if it introduces the risk of potentially overriding something the sys admin has specifically configured. In this case it looks more like someone left a syntax error in the confi...

Re: Warning: htmlentities() charset `UTF-8;' not supported, assuming utf-8

@Straightlight, I am the extension developer and yes, you can certainly use tpl files in OC3. The tpl is for the admin UI only and it's quite easy specify the template engine in admin controller without affecting anything else. Front end is a bit more of an issue but adapting complex php driven OC2 ...
