Re: Language Translation Project at Crowdin

Are there ANY admins watching the Crowdin site? The requests for setting up and importing new locales (i.e. locales that already have localizations mostly but who want to work on Crowding) are piling up and no response: Gaelic (gd) requested 31 Jan Bengali 2 Jan Latvian 8 Dec I mean it's nice that w...

Re: Plural formatting

Again, since OpenCart is inviting new feature suggestion, I suggested supporting proper plurals for all languages. If you feel this is import, please vote.

Re: Better platform for translating?

Since OpenCart is inviting new feature suggestion, I suggested a new, unified localization platform with translation memory features. If you feel this is import, please vote.

Re: Plural formatting

Just come across this in checkout/cart.php %s every %d %s(s) for %d payment(s) then Sorry but who's smoking too much weed here? How is anyone a) supposed to translate that and b) will someone point out to the developers that slapping a letter on for plurals does NOT work in most languages? Pretty pl...

Re: language editor

Notepad++ its free ... seriously... that's like suggesting to someone asking about the bus to take a mule. Translating in raw text is so not industry standard in translation these days. Regarding the suggestions by IP_CAM, they're still a bit on the heavy side for 'just localizers' but I'm willing ...

Re: How to language translate in english to another language

Is that the *official* translation site, OSWorx? Just curious because I've been asking about a better platform for ages (see this post http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=105745) and have had little response. All of a sudden there are THREE places with a translation project. Which is goi...

Re: Better platform for translating?

Hiya Thanks for that - I was beginning to wonder if this forum *only* has lurkers ??? I'm willing to give it a shot - it's this one here , right? Haven't used WTI before but I'm sure they're all very similar. If it works out ok, perhaps we should try and appoint a few admins though, I've been on sev...

Re: Better platform for translating?

Hm seems like the/a Swedish translator has put it on Transifex here

Would be good if we could find a way of pulling them off there and building the packs automatically though. Thoughts anyone?

Better platform for translating?

I'm boldly assuming new people are tired of having to guess around how to translate into a new language and that admins are tired of answering the same questions around this issue again and again. I would therefore like to propose that the localization of OpenCart be officially moved to a site like ...

Re: Create a Language Pack

Based on our experience last year of doing a Gaelic localization, you basically grab the installation, look for the English language php files and translate everything after the = You will also have to change the english.php to your locale's name and amend any locale data needed. I *think* that's mo...

Re: new language and custom translations > solutions?

I would be interested in this too. Maybe this project should start using a Pootle server or Transifex as a platform, it's getting clumsy doing all the translation updates manually.

Plural formatting

Hi we've been asked by our speaker community to localize OpenCart and I have a question about plural formatting and I can't find a forum post which addresses this issue. Different languages uses different plural patterns, some like English, have a 1 and more than one approach (2 plurals) but others ...
