I redirected any traffic going to the error not found pages to my homepage instead. That seems to have sorted it. Wow. I fixed it! (quite a miracle) I found out that the Php.ini file in the admin folder was missing (!?) (didn't realise there should be one... just 'happened' across a reference to it, and though I would check!) I replaced it with one from a fresh download and I can now save my store setting again...

I didn't realise that I had to clear the vqmod cache. So I am closer (again!) Oh I forgot... I used to be able to save the settings properly, so I am reluctant to think that it is an install error. Could this be to do with a dodgy Vqmod?
