I have just checked with Opencart 4.0.2.2 - guest checkout is working ok.

There are 2 cases when Opencart requires registration on checkout:
- there are products with downloads in the cart
- "Login Display" Prices option activated

All the modifications will be lost on upgrade, the code base and extensions are not compatible.

I do not think that clients should upgrade Opencart 4 by their own, every new release includes at least few critical bugs )

Fix for this issue is included in my opencart .mx project, and it survives Opencart upgrade.

Indeed, Daniel treats even most obvious bugs in very specific way. Plus he does not care testing the actual code much and accepts some changes that break the functionality completely. I decided to start fixing Opencart 4 bugs with vQmod so it may be used in production. This is the part of my opencar...

Suprisingly, this issue is fixed by just removing from catalog/controller/checkout/cart.php this line:

$product_id = $product_info['master_id'];

Also installing opencart .mx extension fixes this bug and another known 4.0.2.2 bugs.
