Re: Product option limit problem

Not fixed. I think the problem still exists at 2.3.0.2 I have had to resort to creating multiple products each with fewer than approx 70 options. Up to eight duplicate product records in some cases. Not a nice solution, but I can't find a reliable workable solution that will avoid a need for system ...

Re: Language Editor

Thanks Starlight. 1. I am not sure how to provide more information. Try a vanilla demo system and the problem is experienced. I did that as soon as I found it on my test site. When you get a fatal error on first use of something new you don't feel inclined to persue it too much. Back to the develope...

Language Editor

Version testing: 3.0.2.0 1. When you try to edit an inserted Language Edit, on Save the form is blanked out and returns an Error "Key must be > 3 and < 64 characters. The change is not made. 2. If the text you are changing has line breaks (<p....</p>), you cannot put these into your replacement text...

Contact Us Form Email Problems

OpenCart 2.3.0.2 Contact Us form fails to send email. As can be seen from perusing the many problems reported with the Contact Us Form email over various versions, this is almost certainly due to the web hosting rejecting the message for spoofing or spamming reasons. As in our case all the other ema...

Re: New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Thanks for that information Giles. A theme will be on the agenda once I have got the site settled and the principal chooses to invest a bit more in it. Journal does look very good, but we have many many categories, products, and even worse, options. I will have to investigate a theme very carefully ...

Re: New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Yes, Giles. Mine too. Of course that is ok for development and initial testing, but is not testing the proper environment. Also makes it a more lengthy exercise to retire the old version and promote the new. Anyway, I have released my upgrade now, and should only have a few minor improvements to imp...

Re: New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Well, all the searches and info I can gather tell me all about multi-store using sub-domain, but nothing about a test environment using a different version of the software. Hey... does no-one do testing.???? I can't be the first to ask how to set up a test environment, surely? Can anyone point me to...

Re: New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Thanks for the suggestion Giles.
No, I haven't tried that. I wasn't too sure if the hosting site allowed me sub-domains.

Their advice was to use a test sub-folder, so I was expecting that to work.

I will have to investigate what and how to use a sub-domain.

Re: New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Rather hoping someone has an answer to this problem.

Can't be a unique requirement to have a test upgrade installation in a sub folder.

Anyone got any ideas please????

Re: New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Follow-up... And what is odd about the display of the partial home page is that the category selections of the live site appear across the bottom of the header, and the test2302 config files don't have a database to point to. So that shouldn't happen. However, the page (mostly) works as though linke...

New install 2.3.0.2 in public_html/test current site 1.5.2.1 in public_html

Oh no, not another newbie! I thought this would be easy but... Existing site working fine in public_html version 1.5.2.1 using mydomain.com.au I want to install a fresh, new, demo OpenCart 2.3.0.2 in a directory under public_html as public_html/test2302. I upload the contents of the released upload ...

Re: Product option limit problem

Thanks rph, Except it needs to be added to the /admin directory. And you don't need everything listed. You just need to add: max_input_vars = 2500; to the existing php.ini there. And of course some hosts may not allow you to override this setting. Seems to work for me too. I haven't dared test it wi...

Thanks for your work here.
I will give this a try myself.

But by:

menkom wrote: <snip> in the file php.ini in your opencart root,<snip>.
do you mean the "/public_html" folder above "/admin"? - we don't have access to anything above that, especially "root".

Re: Product option limit problem

We have max_input_vars of 1000, and
post_max_size of 8M

Is this sufficient?

Re: Product option limit problem

Right !
That's comforting. I feel so reassured by that.
No doubt someone with a suitably configured server will be able to confirm that, before I have to restructure everything.

Re: Product option limit problem

Not quite sure if this thread is still on topic. Is this comment Then you'll need a host which will let you override max_input_vars which likely means a VPS or dedicated server. a proposed solution to the problems with large numbers of option values, or is it off topic? It looks as though I am not t...

Ryan, thanks for the response. Certainly at the moment we are using vanilla Opencart. Not even VQMod installed. We did have some custom work done, but the server was hacked and we lost the lot! Has anyone got any suggestions about how we can satisfactorily use Product Options,

As I said, this will be critical to being able to establish our site.

Re: Product option limit problem

Oooh ! Ouch! I am just experimenting with options, and have loaded about 350 product_option_values for a product into the database. The product appears to work in the store front (1.5.2.1) and cart, but I cannot edit the product in admin . Firefox has conniptions, takes a huge time loading data from...
