I haven't made any edits to the file catalog/controller/product/product.php It is the same as the original 3.0.3.2 file. And yes, there are 2 extensions on the product page - one of them shows all linked categories below the product info and the other makes a carousel for the related products inste...

Yes, the word test shows up live on the default theme, if that is what you mean by "it is working", but it's also working on the custom theme - I just tried it. And as I said, I had tried both versions of the code in the title post and saw them go live too. What do you mean it is not worki...

Yes, it is still using the custom theme because I switched back to it immediately (the site is live after all) after testing what you suggested - first I tried using the default theme (the manufacturer link was still there - only the CSS was different), then I tried adding the word test to product.t...

Done, still no change.
I started going through the source code of some of my modules to see if any of them could be interfering with the product.php and .twig files.
I tried disabling some of them (clearing cache afterwards and all) but with no results.
