Re: [admin] changing first page

@ Eugene Note: These changes will alter a core file and as such will revert to their default if you update OpenCart. The way around this is to use VQMod and write an XML file for the changes. You'll need to make an edit to a Control file at: /admin/common/login.php Search for "common/home" (without...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

Ah, yeah. That would require adding to the XML file and targeting a few additional files. The checkout process is pretty much entirely AJAX driven. The view file you would be interested in (if you want to place the Captcha in the "Step 2: Account & Billing Details") is: /catalog/view/theme/YOURTHEME...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

@ Calcite Okay. Figured it out. It was a case of ambiguity. In the VQMod XML file you were searching for a line that actually appeared twice. So the check for the Captcha variable was being added both in the validate() function and in the index() function. As such, because it wasn't registered at t...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

@ Calcite Might need you to put both your xml/vqmod-catalog-captcha-registration-page.xml file AND the cached version of that file up here for me to take a peek at. From the looks of it the error sounds like the captcha variable is not being properly defined somewhere. Did this just begin happening...

Re: Add a column to admin>featured

The featured products are stored in the database in the table "setting". If you do a search in the table for group='featured' it will bring up the information you are looking for. As for the additional field that you are entering, it should be automatically placed in the database upon submission of ...

Re: Newsletter Subscription - Category Selection(s)?

@ SamNabz It seems the easiest way to do this would be as follows: 1. Add a function to the Customer Model file that gathers `category_id` from your category table and LEFT JOIN the `name` field from your category_description table ON `category.category_id` = `category_description.category_id` 2. C...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

@ Calcite Two things you will need to do with that file. First, on line 77 you're going to find YOURTHEME in all caps when you are calling the View File. You need to change that to your theme name. As an example, if you are using default make it look like this: <file name="catalog/view/theme/defaul...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

@ visnetmedia There may be a problem with your request. The newsletter yes/no question is stored directly in the 'customer' table in the database. It is a boolean value, so 1 for yes, 0 for no. The issue with adding this to a contact form is that it would have nowhere to be stored. The contact form...

VQMod Contact Form XML fix for OC 1.5.2.1

@ Calcite Wow! Amazing, but I found the problem and it is a single line that is throwing the entire thing! Seems that VQMod is rather picky about being able to successfully find the <search></search> query or it just dies on that script or passes it up. At the veeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyyy bottom of the X...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

Hey guys, I've been neck-deep in some WordPress development lately and haven't really had a chance to look into this yet. I'll make a note and put it on my desk to hopefully get a chance to look at it this coming weekend (Apr 21-ish) if not sooner. I'll let you know. Just as a general reminder for y...

Re: How to create a form for users to submit info + a file?

@ solan It should be possible with what you see in this form. You just need to make sure that you use the addAttachment() function when generating the e-mail (look above in the code). There shouldn't be any issue with viruses or anything like that, and even if somebody managed to send a virus in an...

Re: How to reference a variable from a form?

@ lasershark The variables for your form are defined in your Controller file. So if you're adding this during the checkout process it should be one of the files (depending on what stage of checkout your form exists at) in the catalog/controller/checkout folder. A good file to reference would be cat...

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul Okay. I'm not sure, but it wasn't showing up for me at all in my file. I moved it to within the <div class="price"> and it shows up fine, and no stacking issues. Occasionally when messing around with it I got some crazy results where it would show up everywhere, but then I realized it was ju...

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul Okay. I figured out what was causing the undefined 1 error. When you are checking to see if the item == 1 you currently have this: <input type="checkbox" name="product_description[<?php echo $language['language_id']; ?>][pnew]" value="1" <?php if ($product_description[$language['language_id'...

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul Are you running any additional modules with OpenCart at this time? It could be that something else is causing a conflict somewhere in there. But by the error it really looks like the problem is in your Template file, and perhaps the checkbox elements aren't being named correctly? For that ma...

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul

It should be fine that they are varchars. I set mine up as Bool in my MySQL database, but defaulted them to 0.

Regardless, the conditional in the Template file is only using the == and not the === operator. So you should be fine.

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul Alright Paul, I'm not really sure what exactly is happening there. I quickly did the previous steps with my own files and got it working without a hitch. The columns 'pnew' and 'dofe' are in my Product Description table. So I've zipped my files (Product Controller, View, Language and Model) ...

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul Okay. Looking at your files, these are the changes that need to be made. Some of this I definitely overlooked. In your Product Model do the following: On line 454 - 457 you will find: 'name' => $result['name'], 'description' => $result['description'], 'meta_keyword' => $result['meta_keyword'...

Re: Add extra info to Product Grid

@ paul Could you possibly upload your Product Model, Controller and Template file? This might be easier if I can scan through what you've got and see if something stands out to me. It looks like maybe a variable is named incorrectly somewhere... possibly in your Product Template. I say this because...
