Re: Magic Quotes GPC turned on
This is a horrible hack.... but..... You can work around magic quotes by disabling the check for it in opencart, and manually un-doing what magic quotes does by doing the following on every page load before any other php is run: 1) use get_magic_quotes_gpc() to see if it's enabled 2) if it is enable...

Re: Characters not showing!
Well... I hate to sound mean, but I think you did something wrong then. If the files are utf-8 and have the characters correctly, and the database is utf-8, and php is set to use utf-8, then it will work with utf-8 character. Note that it will work from then on with utf-8, previously submitted data ...

Re: The question of PHP file charset
You should email the support for whatever editor you were doing the conversion with since that is what the problem is with.

Re: error paypal checkout
Wow... I posted that to the wrong Tab. Sorry for any confusion there.
You might want to submit a bug report though:

Re: Increase upload file size for 'download files'
This is a php setting. See here: http://drupal.org/node/97193 Depending on your host, changing these two PHP variables can be done in a number of places with the most likely being php.ini or .htaccess (depending on your hosting situation). For example, to increase the limit on uploaded files to 10 M...

Re: Magic Quotes!
1) make sure you restarted apache after making the changes
2) .htaccess is only used if you configure apache to use them
3) many site management packages like plesk will add php options in the apache config for each site, check there.

Re: PHP error code at top of main page
Well, that error means it couldn't read the image... So you'll have to figure out what image it's trying to get the details for and why it can't read it.

Re: PHP error code at top of main page
Most likely, your "image" folder either does not exist, or is not set to allow php read/write access that is needs.

Re: Order calculations
Sounds like you need some core functionality that controls the totals, but that the modules are able to influence in some way through a function call or passing values/objects to it or whatever. That way the modules don't have to talk with each other, but they can still influence the system if they ...

Re: jQuery issue on checkout page
You might want to open a bug in the issue tracking:
http://code.google.com/p/opencart/issues/list
Other than that, you might want to contact the nginx guys too since it appears to be mostly a bug on their end, even though doing an ajax POST with no data is not necessary.

Re: Negative stock???
You could offer me a million dollars to code it for youIs there anything I can do on my end to edit anything to get this going?
Really though, it's up to Daniel I suppose (I think he's the only one working on 1.x??) so you'll have to convince him if you don't modify your cart yourself. Jump to post

I'm totally wasted
and would like to explain that although I am completely and utterly drunk, I still like opencart and especially like the afro dude icon ---> O0 I have nothing to say beyond that except my wife says I am too much of a geek, but she still expects me to set up this online shop for her diaper cakes. Yes...

Re: Negative stock???
Oh yea, that's right.... not thinking clearly today :( Edit: Thinking about this though, I think removing it from stock when starting the payment process, and putting it back if they cancel or get an error or it times out would be ideal. Then the only last thing you'd have to do is ensure two stock ...

Re: Negative stock???
Actually, many shops do support this (not sure how well it's supported with GPL carts though), but you have to use the gateway's API instead of just redirecting to their site. For instance, authorize.net allows you to do advanced integration so that you never leave the shopping site. For more info o...

Re: Link to a specific opencart language page
Well... not sure if you would want to do this or not... but you theoretically could take the language setting from google... searching and getting my site gives me a referrer with the google language setting. $_SERVER[HTTP_REFERER] => http://www.google.com/search?q=xxx&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&...
