Re: Rename Admin Folder gives 403 Forbidden error on saving any changes made in the System tab

Thank you ADD Creative, there has just been one significant development. Looking for something else entirely, and for nothing associated with this matter, I fell over a well hidden report on our hosting dashboard (managing several sites) that provided a mod-security report. There is no reference to ...

Re: Rename Admin Folder gives 403 Forbidden error on saving any changes made in the System tab

Thank you to those who have responded: There are instructions on changing the admin folder name. Why do we need an extension, when following the instructions should suffice? It does in other shopping carts I have used. Our cPanel does not have 'mod-security', and I have checked all through the cPane...

Rename Admin Folder gives 403 Forbidden error on saving any changes made in the System tab

Using OC 3.0.2.0 on an Apache/cPanel server. No problems in either of two different installations. Note that docs says "Renaming the admin directory to something unrelated to the admin is necessary to prevent unwanted eyes from discovering it's location." Note that renaming is said to be necessary ....

Re: Cannot save System/Settings

This issue is no longer urgent, and can be marked as resolved. The immediate problem has been resolved by re-engineering the admin folder to have its original name. The store works just fine now. It seems that the update of the header.twig file in the local theme triggered 'Maintenance Mode'. This h...

Re: Cannot save System/Settings

Straightlight, let me apologize. I guess this issue has been so frustrating I have forgotten that I noted the thread 'resolved' on its original topic, and opened a more relevant and specific topic because the issue is now very specific. The OC is V 3.0.2.0. The whole shop has been operating since la...

Re: Cannot save System/Settings

Thank you tingwing. Unfortunately, the admin panel is all blocked by '403 - Forbidden' if the folder is any more open than 755, so 777 just doesn't work. As for the file, we can go to 777 in its permissions, but that does not resolve the issue. We still get 403-Forbidden when trying to save System/S...

Re: Editing header.twig and resetting will not update page

This topic is resolved. The permissions issue is not resolved, but is now referred on a new topic.

Cannot save System/Settings

When updating a theme, we found that OpenCart got locked into Maintenance Mode, and when using System/Settings to correct that, we encountered a 403-Forbidden error. After much fruitless searching, our hosting company has noted that they can see the following on their error log: "directory permissio...

Re: Editing header.twig and resetting will not update page

Not updating the page has been successfully addressed by adding the -Admin/Modifications/Refresh routine, to the cache clearing function of the dashboard blue button. Thank you. The page now appears as it should. The 403 error when trying to save -Admin/System/Settings remains. It is still locked in...

Editing header.twig and resetting will not update page

Installation of OC3.0.2.0 has been working for six months with a customised header.twig (in a separate named theme folder - not the default folder) to custom style the default theme. I edited the custom header.twig, uploaded and reset, and the page updated. Unfortunately, I had used wrong capitalisa...
