Re: [RELEASED] Bulk SEO Keyword Generator

@ghostdog87: That's definitely a good idea that I'd like to do at some point, although right now I just dont' have enough time! I'll let you know if I get round to it though.

Re: SEO-url batch creation

Just in case anyone is interested, I've uploaded a (commercial) extension that I built for a client a while ago that does a very similar thing. It also has a few nice extras, such as: Increments keywords in the event of duplicate names to prevent problems with collisions. Generates keywords for Manu...

Loading admin models from catalog (or vice versa)

Does anyone have any tips for loading an admin model (such as admin/model/setting/setting.php) from a front-end (catalog) model or controller? I'm using the standard loader function at the moment: $this->load->model('setting/setting'); But this seems to limit you to only loading from *either* the ca...

Re: Auto generate SEO friendly keyword from name

@aethertrebs - Yes, an AJAX DB lookup to check for duplicates would be nice, especially as opencart doesn't validate this by default either. @labeshops - should be pretty easy to modify, you'd probably just need to change the line var text = $(this).val(); to var text = $(this).val() + ' ' + $("inpu...

Errors not being displayed

I seem to have a recurring problem with any coding errors occuring in controllers are not being displayed or reported ie. I just get a blank screen. The error in question was that I had: $results = $this->model_catalog_manufactuer->getManufacturers(); instead of $results = $this->model_catalog_manuf...

Re: Theme directory as variable

Wow - that was fast! I did just come across this in another thread, although it actually ends up being more code that just typing out the theme name. What would be ideal would be a variable that included the overall theme path, something like: <img src="<?=$this->config->get('theme_path')?>/image/my...

Re: Theme directory as variable

I think that sounds like a great idea - finding it frustrating at the moment having to keep adding in that long path!...

Re: Auto generate SEO friendly keyword from name

Also, I've added an extra selector to work for information pages (useful for delivery information, T&Cs etc). Full code: var keyword = $("input[name=keyword]").val(); if (!keyword) { $("input[name^='product_description'],input[name^='category_description'],input[name='name'],input[name='information_...

Re: Auto generate SEO friendly keyword from name

Here's my quick improvment:

  • Removes trailing dashes
    Doesn't add dashes for removed punctuation

Code: Select all

text = text.toLowerCase();
text = text.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9 ]+/g,'');
text = $.trim(text);
text = text.replace(/[ ]+/g,'-');
