Well to be fair the upgrade doesn't work in that version from any lower version either.

Generally it's best to start fresh and migrate the data.

You might be better off finding the part in the extension that shows and hides categories and making your change in there, but generally speaking, hardcoding IDs is a nasty hack.

I would be concerned with why your site executes sql injections in the first place.

It isn't necessarily executing the SQL though.

Just hitting a site with a huge number of requests could take it down even if there's no vulnerability.

Really at this point non-developers should be using 3.0.4.0.

If a feature is included in the platform, it would be nice to be able to use it properly. Do you know if there is a specific fix or workaround for this in OC 4.1.0.0? Or is API functionality one of the known issues in this version? As above, at this point most of the top developers recommend 3.0.4.0.
