I responded to your SO post. reinstall vQmod and re-upload your mods. Something got broken, editing vqmod.php will most likely get you in more trouble rather than helping.

I've just come across this issue in Opencart 1.5.3.1 default installation, demo products only. Specials were not showing because one product had two specials assigned, both for Default customer group and both with indefinite dates (0000-00-00). That caused some sort of conflict I suppose. thought I am getting hang of this MVC thing until this. Can you give an example of how would I call the controller function from the .tpl? I want to make an AJAX call to the controller from a button in my .tpl

Could you demonstrate please. if categories box is on home page, how do I go about it? index.php?route=common/home/my_function ?
Because, obviously index.php?route=modules/category/my_function won't work (I did try it though..)

On pages that have their own url (route) like index.php?route=account/customer, I can access custom function by just appending function name to the url, like this: index.php?route=account/customer/my_function But for modules, there are no urls or route...

Just installed v1.5.0.3 and I've uploaded 2 new banners after the default Samsung. Renamed them Banner 1 (Samsung), Banner 2 (Cheese) and Banner 3 (Red chair).
