Re: Radical customization of OpenCart home page

Thanks, rph. I managed to figure it out yesterday by utilizing the Welcome module. To get rid of the "Welcome" message, I edited the welcome.php file as so:

<?php
$_['heading_title'] = '';
?>

Radical customization of OpenCart home page

I've been given a mockup for an OpenCart site with videos, ads, and a bunch of other specialized content for the home page. I could code this out in HTML and CSS with no problem, but am not sure how to approach this in OpenCart. Any suggestions?

Can't connect to db. Error No: 1046

To get a jump start on development for a second OpenCart store, I copied all files and the database and thought I made all the necessary changes to both config.php files, but I keep getting the following error. I've held out and researched as long as I could before posting this. Any ideas? Notice: E...

Re: Notable sites that use OpenCart?

One of the most notable sites is Nik Wallenda's website. About 3 weeks ago Nik walked across the Grand Canyon on a wire here in the states and had over 30 million viewers in 1 day (Discovery Channel). The following day he was on all the popular morning shows touting his website for t-shirts and oth...

Re: Notable sites that use OpenCart?

Some clients are somewhat tech-savvy and like to get involved in decisions such as this. If I could show this client a list of reputable and recognizable companies that use OpenCart, that would help seal the deal. It's possible that there are none out there... yet.

Notable sites that use OpenCart?

Client wants Magento, but we're recommending OpenCart for their store of 250-300 items. What notable companies can I say use OpenCart for their ecommerce solutions?

Suggestions for best way to modify Account page (screenshot)

I've been asked to add some content in the white space on the My Account page, to the right of all the bullets. Here's a screenshot: http://bit.ly/152UU78. My first thought was to modify the template/account/account.tpl and hardcode the new content, but that's a cop out just to eliminate a task off ...

Thanks, Pedro. Maybe I can hard-code it in. If so, do you know what template to modify?

That last idea might be the way to go. This is all new ground for me, but I'm willing to take the time and learn as I go. Thanks for the input.

Custom welcome message greets customer after logging in

I'm trying to think of a way to greet our customers with a message right after they log in, i.e. "Thank you for logging in....". One thought I had was to customize the My Account page, but then I quickly realized that the message only needs to appear after logging in. From a usability perspective, I...

pprmkr wrote:There are no products under a specific category.

One product can be related to many categories.
There's got to be a way to customize and apply this for certain products, so that the prices and order buttons don't appear unless logged in.

I right-clicked on one of the radio buttons for "Login Display Prices" in admin and saw that the field name is 'config_customer_price'.
